  • Sung Sot Cave - A place so amazing that the French deemed it “Grotte des Surprises” or (Surprise Grotto), Sung Sot Cave is one of the biggest, most beautiful caves in Halong Bay and a highlight on most Halong Bay itineraries.

The cave can be found on the island of Bo Hon, along with another popular Halong cave, Trinh Nu. From the dock below, visitors must climb 50 stairs to the grotto’s mouth, which is just 25 meters above the sea. Sung Sot Cave is divided into two chambers; the first chamber, known as the “Waiting Room” is vast, adorned by stalagmites and stalactites and lit by multicolored lights positioned to complement the chamber’s structural beauty.

n order to reach the second chamber, visitors must walk down a narrow passageway. The second chamber is known as the “Serene Castle”. This chamber is large and grand with an extremely high ceiling and has many interesting rock formations which locals identify by likening them to animals due to their shapes.

  • Hang Luon Cave - Halong Bay is not a strange destination for tourists who love discovering the magnificent appearance of this world heritage. Whenever mentioning Halong Bay, many people will think about a bay with thousands of limestone islets in various sizes and shapes. Inside the mountains are a world of sparkling caves that are decorated by stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Unlike the common caves in Halong Bay, Luon Cave is a unique one, which is no less attractive than the others.

Luon Cave is a part of Bo Hon Island, which is about 14 kilometers from the mainland of Bai Chay City. Known as the island of amazing things, Bo Hon Island is an outstanding location in Halong Bay that most tourists choose as a nextstop on their way discovering Halong Bay.

The surrounding area of Luon Cave comprises a lot of well-known places of interest in Halong Bay. In front of Luon Cave is Con Rua Island (Turtle Island), and on the right of this cave is the Heaven Gate.

  • Ti Top Island - Ti Top Island is favored for its enchanting scenery and pleasant weather. These elements make Ti Top Beach a not-to-be-missed destination for tourists on the journey of exploring Halong Bay, especially those who love nature in Vietnam. This Island is preferable for tourists when taking Halong Bay tours, thanks to its ideal location. Specifically, Bo Hon Island and Sung Sot Cave are ahead of the island, while Dam Nam Island is to the right, and Cua Luc Bay is at the backside. Moreover, Ti Top Beach is located only about 7-8 kilometers away from Bai Chay Tourist Area to the Southeast.
  • Tuan Chau Island - We disembarks at Tuan Chau Harbor. We will depart back Hanoi on expressway

Horrible experience in the most beautiful place - We had a one day cruise to Halong Bay on 12 May 2024. About 1/2hr into our bus ride, we needed to use the restroom so we raised it with our tour guide 'Lion'. He asked us to wait for 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, we were still on the highway and passing several rest stops along the way. So, we raised it again with the tour guide to stop somewhere as we had to go. At this point he yells at us in front of all the other tourists in the bus saying "do you want me stop on the highway?! " We asked him to lower his tone and tried to explain to him that we just saw several rest stops and we had to use it urgently. He continued to yell at us saying he can't stop on the highway even though we didn't even want that, we just wanted them to take us somewhere appropriate. We reached the rest stop not even 2 minutes later, so he could have definitely said something better like, "we're reaching in a minute", or something along those lines. At the rest stop we got in touch with management and they seemed to call him up to assess the situation. He approached us after the phone call in a highly combative demeanour, got even more argumentative and said things like "did you want to stop on the road to pee on a tree" or "leave if you have a problem" at the rest stop. He ignored us for the rest of the tour and deliberately did not offer us water, while he offered it to all other tourists right in front of us. No matter what the situation is, this is not the kind of service we expected from a hospitality cruise. We were looking forward to a cruise in a beautiful country like Vietnam, and this was super disappointing.
