Great way to see Amsterdam! - Great way of seeing the city. We did both 48 hr boat and bus tours, plus a self guided walking tour through Jordaan area of Amsterdam from the free app! Along the way, we stopped for great pizza and beer and genever and apple pie! I recommend using everything on the app! (I struggled to pay for tickets on the app because it wanted to verify payment via text message and I had that function disabled on my mobile, but I was able to pay for it via Trip Advisor, you could also pay for it there at stop#1 in person using credit card or cash.)Also, there is no way they can tell what time of day you bought your ticket so a 2 day pass can actually become a 3 day pass.....was told this by a worker in the boat!

The River Cruising is amazing - The bus we can take or leave it. - This was a fantastic way to get around the city, the River Cruising was out of this world, loved it. The Bus was useful however we had a situation where the driver took a 15-20min break when we arrived at the Diamond factory and just left all the passengers on the bus with no air conditioning (it was a very hot day) he didn't advise anyone that he was taking a break he just got off and took off. No one knew if it was for a short or long time, so no one left the bus in case he took off without us. When he eventually got back on, he was rude about it (saying - well it's a 1hr round trip and you'll still get your 1hr).

Served it's purpose - This served it purpose as a means to highlighting the city. The bus has no air so in the sun it got really hot on top. Thr shuttle runs from 10 to 5 so be mindful traffic delays can slow down your pace. Also the tour on the bus circles the outter side of the city, so you need to factor walking times to bus stops.

For hopping only. - It was hot on board with very little are circulation due to the mostly enclosed vessel configuration. That along with the cramped conditions make it unbearable for one continuous journey although I would recommend it for hopping purposes.

No hop on/hop off bus signs anywhere - Wasted valuable sightseeing time trying to find a stop sign in order to re-alight the hop on/hop bus service. Alighted the bus at the start (which had a large red flag clearly advertising its service) near central station Amsterdam. Was provided with a map indicating the number stop along the route. Except that there are no actual signs to show where to wait for the bus. How can a bus service be allowed to operate a service which is aimed at tourists trying to safely navigate their way around, at some places, very busy roads in central Amsterdam whilst searching for a non-existent sign? Eventually, came across the hop on/hop off canal's booking cabin and asked this question. The reply was that they are not permitted by the authority to display their signs. In addition, for at least 10/15 minutes the audio system for the commentary wasn't working. Despite a full bus, the driver only communicated this after my friend drew this to the attention of the driver. Nor was it communicated to passengers that there are no bus signs.
