Best Experience and great tour company in Crete - If you love exploring nature and have got medium fitness you must do this tour. Our experience with our guide Kostas was absolutely brilliant. Gave us all the information we needed and was there all the way looking after us. The day is long but so worth it. We saw some amazing views and were so lucky to have experienced it. Checkin are a great tour company. We also did their Chania and Kournas lake trip which was brilliant as well.

Challenging and beautiful. Guide was fun and helpful. - It is a long and challenging hike. Wear sunscreen, good hiking shoes and layered clothing. Hiking poles are very helpful. There is still another mile or 2 after you leave the park to walk to the boat. Very cute little town.

Beautiful hike! - Very beautiful hike, accessible to anyone with a good pair of shoes or sneakers and a good physical condition. We did it in 4 hours with photo breaks. Very few people at this time of year. Nature was ours. Departure in the morning at 8 a.m. arrival at noon. Add 30 minutes to get to Tranquilou beach. I recommend👍

Top organized tour in a magnificent gorge - We booked the tour in advance online via the provider's website. You can easily specify that you want to pay on site or pay in advance by credit card. The information and tickets arrived shortly after booking. Due to unfavorable weather conditions and the associated closure of the park, the tour unfortunately had to be postponed twice. Communication about this went smoothly via email or WhatsApp and tickets for the new dates were sent immediately by email. On the day of collection, we were picked up by bus directly in front of our hotel in Rethymnon at the stated time (06:25). The guide Costas greeted us warmly. On the way to the Samaria Gorge, Costas collected the amount for the tour (30€/person) as well as for entry to the Samaria Gorge (4€/person) and the ferry (13€/person) in cash. We were given a map of the national park and a detailed introduction to the process. Around 20 minutes before the entrance to the gorge there is a short stop at a tavern. Toilet break and opportunity to buy provisions. Costas got the tockets at the entrance and handed them out to us. After that we were able to hike through the gorge on our own. Costas is the last of the group to walk. This ensures that all participants in the tour arrive safely at the exit. You can walk at your own pace and therefore don't have to walk in a group. That would be impossible with a full busload. It took us almost 5 hours to walk the 15km. You should definitely be sure-footed. Sturdy shoes or, better yet, hiking boots are a must. You should also bear in mind that the route is very long and can be quite challenging for inexperienced hikers. There are many supply stations with water and toilets along the route. I still recommend taking at least 1.5L of water per person. The path in the gorge itself is very long. At the end you can drink the water from the stream without hesitation. It tastes very good. There is a small tavern and bar at the exit. Around 10 minutes further on there is another bar from which a bus (2€/person) takes tired hikers to the beach. You can also walk the 10 minutes. At the end of the tour, the beach in Agia Roumeli or one of the taverns invites you to relax. Costas gave us the ferry tickets as discussed. At 5:30 p.m. the ferry left for Sfakia where the bus for the journey home was already waiting for us and took us back to Rethymnon at around 8:30 p.m. as announced. All in all, a successful day and a superbly organized tour. We felt very comfortable with CheckIn Creta and can recommend this agency without reservation.

One of the most intense amusement parks in Europe! - Wonderful Excellent attractions for teenagers and children, an excellent show and a beautiful design approach to the park. The customer support responded very kindly and professionally to our requests for changing tickets. Having visited so many parks in Europe, America and Asia, I would like to emphasize that the attractions in this park are not inferior to any of them. This park emphasizes its style more in atruction style than in show.

Loved it - They always piked us up at our hotel, and brought us back. Very nice people at the office, driver and our guide. He always asked if we were ok, and everyone is very polite. Guide speaks english well and answered any questions we had. Driver also drove very safely in the mountains. Samaria was breathtaking, we tried to take some pictures but it is imposible to put that kind of view and beauty into a photo. Patways are a little bit wild, not cemented, and I loved it, it wasn't hard to walk, because you went always down, of course the next day it was hard to walk downstairs 😂. The whole expierience was amazing, if we come back to Crete one day, we will take some more trips with Checkin Crete. I recomend it a lot.

Perfectly organized - Great tour to Samaria gorge. Pickup in morning was exactly on time, scenic drive to the starting point, very friendly and helpful guide, beautiful scenery along the hike, and a pre-air-conditioned bus awaiting us after the boat trip. Bring your swimming gear and don’t forget a pair of slippers to walk on the black sand beach!

A beautiful trip - It was one of the most amazing experiences! Beautiful nature that changes as you walk down the gorge, interesting paths and fresh air. This hike might seem challenging at first, but it's completely accessible for everyone without even feeling sore afterward (well, maybe just a little). There are multiple panoramic stops where you can also refill your water bottle from the refreshing clear spring, pet some Cretan kri kri goats and take a break. After going through till the end you will be rewarded with a relaxing swim in the sea on the beach. Great way to stay active and have fun! Totally worth it!
