Highlights
  • Huay Mongkol Temple - Wat Huay Mongkol is a temple complex that houses the world’s largest statue of the renowned monk, Luang Phor Tuad. Born 400 years ago at the end of the Ayutthaya period in Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand, Luang Phor Tuad is celebrated for his miracles. Thais believe his image offers protection from natural disasters and the evil eye. Many Thai people visit from across the country to pay their respects to this revered holy man. They also believe that carrying an amulet of Luang Phor Tuad wards off evil and brings good fortune. Small shops in the park sell these amulets and other memorabilia.
  • Kaeng Krachan National Park - At 10:30 am, continue to Kaeng Krachan National Park. On the way to the waterfall, you may often see wild elephants crossing the road. As Thailand’s largest national park, it borders Burma and is contiguous with the Tanintharyi Nature Reserve. Its proximity to the tourist town of Hua Hin makes it a popular destination. The park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 26, 2021.
  • Pala-U Waterfall - Arrive at Pala-U Waterfall and trek through the jungle to reach the best swimming spots. The name “Pa La-U Waterfall” comes from the Karen word “La-U,” meaning “bamboo,” due to the area’s abundance of bamboo. Located within Kaeng Krachan National Park, the waterfall spans approximately 437,000,000 square meters of rich natural habitat and wildlife. Commonly seen animals include gibbons, elephants, hedgehogs, and rare birds like red-headed trogons, green-billed malkohas, great slaty woodpeckers, and rusty-breasted cuckoos, making it an excellent spot for bird watching. The waterfall features 15 cascades, each uniquely beautiful. Climbing to higher levels becomes increasingly challenging, and staff recommend ascending only to the 5th level for safety reasons due to the steep path.

Nature hike - Trip was worthwhile. Guide was very informative. Took us to a number of cultural sites and then to the scenic hike. The waterfalls were picturesque, but challenging to get into the water with the fish and the slippery rocks. The lunch overlooking the hills was delicious. The drive was picturesque. We saw a whole group of macaque monkeys on the way.

Waterfall trip. - Super trip with our guide called Arm. He was really into nature and spited do many creatures and things to show us. The waterfalls, while not completely full we're still great to see. The fish were hilarious and Arm showed how he could feed them from his hand. The hike was fine although you need a bit of stamina and sure footedness as you have to scramble over rocks. Great trip and very worthwhile.

Disappointed - National park fee 300 bhat. Waterfalls are small and access is not easy if your not fit waterfalls I have visited in Kanchaburi TAK Chiangmai Krabi far better.

Bad driver but amazing nature and food - The trip includes beautiful nature and very good food at an amazing location. Just the food and nature would be a 5 star, but the guides driving wasn't good... We were all afraid to drive with him... But wow the nature is good and the food location is very amazing as well. Unfortunately the drive took away some of the experience...
