  • Mecca Masjid - Mecca Mosque is a congregational mosque located in the old city of Hyderabad. It ranks among the largest mosques in India, accommodating over 10,000 people for Eid Prayers. Built in the 17th century by both the Qutb Shahis and Mughals, it is situated just 100 meters southwest of Charminar and houses important tombs of the Nizams of Hyderabad.

  • Laad Bazaar - Located to the west of Charminar in Old Hyderabad, Laad Bazaar is a vibrant market known for its glittering and colorful lacquer bangles. This market, with over 400 years of history, is also a place to buy imitation jewelry, clothes, and more.

  • Charminar - Charminar, meaning four minarets, is a stunning historic monument in the heart of old Hyderabad, built in 1591 by the Qutb Shahis. It was constructed as a replica of the tomb of Imam Hussain and includes a Madarasa, Mosque, and beautiful stucco decorations. Charminar holds architectural, religious, and historical significance and is the most visited monument in Hyderabad, surrounded by bustling historical markets. Visitors can climb to the first floor of Charminar and view Juma Masjid, the first congregational mosque built in Hyderabad in 1598 in Qutb Shahi architecture. From here, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding monuments.

  • Gulzar Houz - Also known as Char-Su-Ka-Houz, Gulzar Houz is the central point of Old Hyderabad City, built with the Char Bagh concept associated with the city’s foundation.

  • Panje Shah - Panjeshah-e-Vilayat Ali is a sacred site for Muslims, featuring the handprint of Ali, located near Kala Kaman in the Char Kaman area.

  • Qadm-e-Rasool SAWS - This Ashoorkhana, located opposite Panjeshah-e-Vilayat Ali, houses very old Alams used in processions during the Moharram Festival.

  • Mir Alam Mandi - Walking through the lanes of Mir Alam Mandi, one encounters one of the oldest vegetable and spice markets, as well as a Burqa Galli market.

  • Pathar Gatti - The Pathar Gatti market buildings were restored in the early 20th century by CIB. The area features numerous busy shops and lanes frequented by the local community for daily shopping.

  • Pathergatti Road - Naal-E-Mubarak Ashurkhana is a Shia religious site of historical importance, housing metal pieces of the helmet of Imam Hussain used in the battle of Karbala in 680 AD.

  • Badshahi Ashurkhana - This Ashoorkhana, associated with Shia Muslims, is a place of mourning during the Muharram Festival. Built in 1594 AD to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain in the battle of Karbala, it features beautiful and colorful Persian mosaic tiles. It was partially damaged by the Musi River floods in 1908 AD. The Ashoorkhana includes sites like Niyaz Khana, Naqaar Khana, Sarai Khana, Abdar Khana, Langar Khana, Makan-e-Mujawer, Daftar-e-Mujawer, and Alawa Chabutra. After Aurangazeb’s conquest of Golkonda, the Ashoorkhana was used as a horse stable for the Mughal cavalry to display Sunni dominance.

  • Dewan Devdi - Dewan Devdi was the residential palace of the Salarjung family, three members of which served as Prime Ministers of the Nizam’s Kingdom during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Salarjung Museum was initially opened in this palace.

  • Nayapul Road - From the Afzal Gunj Bridge/Nayapul Bridge, one can observe the final phase of development during the Nizam’s era under CIB and its impact on city life. The tour concludes here.
