Experience Ireland’s history through its songs as you stroll through the streets of Galway city.

We’ll start at Galway port, a poignant site where many desperate people from Galway and Connemara were forced to emigrate. Here, you’ll hear songs that tell their stories. Next, we’ll visit the Spanish Arch, the charming Claddagh fishing community, Eglinton Canal, Carroll’s, The Dew Drop, Lynch’s Castle, and St. Nicholas Church, where you’ll get a taste of the harsh reality brought by Oliver Cromwell. We’ll also explore the old Market location at Woodquay, view the Corrib River and the 1890s railway bridge. Our journey continues to Eyre Square, where you’ll learn about Dargan, Ireland’s railway hero, and hear about the cattle, horse, and hay markets that once thrived here. Additionally, you’ll listen to songs recounting the tales of Irish workers who helped build American railways.
