Yes, you can go by car ! - The trail is great all the way to the ink pots! The only 2 ways to access the canyon by car, is either by booking a night at the lodge or simply making a reservation at the Johnston canyon lodge for lunch. Once you do the reservation, they will send you a confirmation by email and you simply have to show your confirmation at the beginning of the road. We were served in 10 minutes and we were ready to go 45 minutes after. Encourage them ! It’s the best way to make it to the canyon this summer !!!

Great outing to Johnston Canyon - We had a great hike up the ink pot. Shauna was well prepared so we could enjoy ourselves. thankfully, as it was quite slippery. I enjoyed Shauna’s willingness to share her knowledge of rock formations, weather patterns, history, etc. I recommend her service if you’re new to hiking or unfamiliar with the area!
