• Yogyakarta Region - Depart early in the morning at 05:30 AM or 06:00 AM from Yogyakarta, traveling through scenic countryside to reach the hiking basecamp of Merbabu Mountain in Selo Village, which stands at 1,836m.
• Mount Merbabu - The adventure begins with a challenging climb through lush tropical forests. Along the way, you might encounter local wildlife such as monkeys or colorful butterflies, enhancing the sense of exploration and discovery.

After hiking for about 4 hours and arriving at post 4 at 2,770m, the landscape starts to change as the forest transitions to green savannas adorned with wildflowers. The air becomes cooler as you approach the summit, where the reward for your efforts awaits.

Upon reaching the summit of Mount Merbabu at 3,142m, take a well-deserved break. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Merapi Volcano from a short distance and the expansive vista of Java’s volcanic landscape stretching as far as the eye can see.

After taking in the view and exploring the summit area, descend via the same route, soaking in the sights and sounds of the natural surroundings once more. By late afternoon, after about a 3-hour descent, you will arrive back at the hiking basecamp.
