Highlights
  • Innsbruck Food Tours - This and MORE you will enjoy:

We will start with our farmers in the Innsbruck market hall („Markthalle Innsbruck“). They are the backbone of the Tyrolean cuisine. There are also many local farmers who prepare samples, through which they convey their passion for the local and traditional culinary art.

“White or rather crumbly?” - Try a Tyrolean grey cheese („Graukäse“), perhaps in combination with a fiery chutney? On the tour a cheese sommelier will present typical local cheeses.

Then we will dive into the world of bread. Here you will be able to “sniff out” the unique history of baking bread - the kind of insight that usually is not easily accessible for tourists.

In a local bread manufacturer in Innsbruck you will get to know and appreciate bread as a form of ancient cultural heritage, lovingly and passionately produced with hundreds of years of traditional knowledge and experience.

For lunch you will taste specialities from the different Tyrolean regions, indulge your palate with various delicacies and listen to interesting stories.

As Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once wrote, ”If you have eaten and drunk, you are born as new; Be stronger, braver, more skilled at your business”. And so lunch will be followed by a digestive walk through the city, the caffeinated and award-winning awakener (coffee), and sweet temptations that tell Tyrolean history.

Next, a culinary, historical journey will take us centuries into the past, until we finally end up at a cozy “Marend” and taste samples of that specialty, with which Tyrol was usually first associated.

Best Food Tour - We had the pleasure of joining a food tour in Innsbruck, Austria, led by the amazing Kurt, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we met, Kurt’s passion for the local cuisine and culture was evident. He not only introduced us to hidden gems and traditional eateries but also shared fascinating stories about each dish and the history behind them. Kurt's enthusiasm was infectious, making every stop feel like a celebration. Each tasting was carefully curated, showcasing the best of Tyrolean flavors, from hearty alpine dishes to delightful pastries. He made sure everyone felt included and engaged, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Kurt's knowledge of the local food scene was impressive, and his recommendations for local markets and restaurants to visit afterward were spot on. Thanks to him, we left with full stomachs and a newfound appreciation for Innsbruck's culinary delights. If you’re looking for a fun and insightful way to explore Innsbruck, I can’t recommend Kurt highly enough. He truly made our food tour an unforgettable adventure!

Entertaining, tasty, educational, all you could want in a food tour! - 10/10 food tour! Kurt brings so much passion and energy and you can tell he cares greatly for Tyrol, Innsbruck and the rich food history. This was our first trip to Europe and Kurt made it a very memorable experience. We don’t speak German but Kurt speaks very clear English and was able to do the tour in English and in German for the German couple on the tour with us. The local restaurants all seem to have a great relationship with Kurt so they let us see behind the scenes. This is a great way to experience the local food and support local business and I highly recommend!

Delicious way to spend the day! - Kurt LOVES his Tyrolean cuisine and culture and this comes across throughout the entire delicious tour. The tour starts in a farmers' market and then travels to family-owned restaurants, bakeries, bread shops, and a speckeria. We thoroughly enjoyed the authentic food of the charming city of Innsbrook. Kurt is part food connoisseur, part historian, and an all-around nice guy. If you have several days in Innsbruck, do this tour first so that you can go back and revisit the spots he takes you to on your own (with a discount). It is the epitome of supporting local multi-generational businesses. We enjoyed this experience tremendously.

One of the Best Food Tours Ever!! - We have done lots of food tours through Europe but this is the only one i think i took home more than I ate. Come Hungry. Kurt is a great food guide. Introduces you to very local cuisine. There were 7 people on the tour. Kurt boxed up everything and told us when to eat up and when to save it. He brings you bags for the leftovers. We had SO much food left. Definitely worth it. After the tour Kurt even wrote us personally and gave us suggestions while in Munich. He really cares about his guests and it showed. Oh and he travels with his own schnaps and cups for you
