Highlights
  • Corinth Canal - After the initial overwhelming feeling of being 90 meters above water level looking straight down, you will admire this beautiful canal with the narrow steep walls only 26 meters apart and about 6 kilometers long. The ancient Greeks first thought of it but it wasn’t possible with the machinery available at the time, so it wasn’t until 1893 that it was finally completed.
  • Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Corinth has been a very wealthy city in ancient times. Blessed by being situated around this very fertile land, growing olive trees, vineyards, and much more, the city developed greatly in trading all these products also taking advantage of its strategic location between Athens and Sparta. In the modern day, the Temple of Apollo dominates the well-preserved archaeological site that gives the visitor a complete idea of the ancient city and its most important parts.
  • Acrocorinth - The dispute between Poseidon and Helios (god of sun) found the latter to be the “legendary owner” of this castle overlooking the Corinthian gulf. Its unique location made the castle hard to conquer so it played an important role throughout the ages of Greek history. Today, big parts of the Venetian-built defensive walls are still preserved and the visitor can enjoy the 360 degrees view.

Great day trip from Athens! - This day was so much fun! We learned a lot about Greek culture while talking to Ted during the drive and it was so cool to visit an area we had read about the apostle Paul visiting in the Bible. The wine at the vineyard we visited was amazing as well!

Top Notch Guide - Ted was so wonderful. His love for Greece shows in his pride and hospitality. He made everything easy to understand and helped translate where needed. He was very accommodating, making adjustments to our schedule to fit in an additional site we wanted to see. We would book him again if our stay were longer.

Corinth is MAGNIFICIENT!!! - Visiting Corinth was absolutely amazing! Ted is just a great guy. He tells and shows you all the places that only the locals would know. He is VERY polite and flexible. When we informed him that we weren't big wine drinkers, he brought us to an alternative site, the Temple of Hera. This was by an inlet visited only by locals. He brought us to a family owned restaurant. The cuisine was to die for. I highly recommend this tour!
