  • Ancient City of Ephesus - Ephesus dates back to around 3000 BC when it was founded by Ionian Greeks. This early beginning paved the way for its future significance. Initially a port settlement along the Aegean Sea, Ephesus thrived due to its strategic location and fertile lands.

Over the centuries, Ephesus became part of the Ionian League, a coalition of Greek city-states in Asia Minor. During this time, the city saw significant growth and cultural development. One of its most notable achievements was the construction of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, in the 6th century BC.

  • Ephesus Terrace Houses - The Ephesus Terrace Houses, also known as the “Houses of the Rich,” are an extraordinary archaeological site within the ancient city of Ephesus, near Selçuk, Turkey. These well-preserved Roman-era homes offer a fascinating look into the daily lives of the city’s wealthy residents during the 1st century AD. The Terrace Houses are a series of interconnected, multi-story dwellings featuring lavish elements such as frescoed walls, intricate mosaics, underfloor heating systems (hypocausts), and running water. These luxurious homes highlight the opulence and advanced engineering of the era. Visitors can explore the beautifully decorated rooms and corridors, gaining insights into the social and cultural aspects of Ephesian life. The Ephesus Terrace Houses provide a unique and immersive experience, enriching the understanding of this ancient city’s history and the lifestyle of its elite inhabitants.
  • The Temple of Artemis - The Temple of Artemis, also known as the Artemision, was a magnificent ancient Greek temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis, located in the ancient city of Ephesus, near modern-day Selçuk, Turkey. This grand structure was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and exemplified the splendor of the Hellenistic era. Constructed in the 6th century BC, the temple’s building was overseen by famous architects like Chersiphron and his son Metagenes.

The Temple of Artemis was famous for its enormous size and lavish decorations. It boasted over 100 tall marble columns, each adorned with detailed carvings and sculptures, making it one of the largest temples of its time. The temple honored Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and fertility.
