Highlights
  • Jeju Stone Park - Stone Culture Park is a museum and ecological park that comprehensively and systematically shows the stone culture of Jeju, the land of stones. The entire park will be created by 2020, and in the first stage, exhibition halls such as the Jeju Stone Museum, Jeju Stone Culture Exhibition Hall, and Jeju’s traditional thatched roof were completed and opened on June 3, 2006, 7 years after the construction began. The Stone Culture Park, where you can see the stone culture of Jeju in one place, is so large that it is recommended to visit it on a leisurely schedule. The Stone Culture Park is located in front of Oreum, a unique natural heritage of Jeju, and if you follow the shape of a castle made of piled stones, you will reach the entrance of the Stone Culture Park with a cool view of the surroundings.

Passing through the entrance and following the viewing path, you will come across various stone sculptures woven from the tale of Seolmundae Halmang and her son, General Oh Baek.

  • Sangumburi Crater - Jeju Sangumburi Crater is a parasitic volcanic crater on Hallasan Mountain.
It is the only submerged volcano on Jeju Island.

The outer circumference of the crater is 2,067m, the inner circumference is 756m, the depth of the crater is 100–146 m, forming a conical cliff, and the floor area is about 8,000 pyeong. The crater rarely ejected lava; only a hole was dug deep by the explosion, and the material from the explosion was scattered in all directions and only a small amount accumulated around it. Although the diameter and depth of the crater are larger than those of Baeknokdam, the water does not accumulate and flows out to the sea through the basalt gravel layer of the crater wall. Such a crater is called a maar, and Sangumburi Crater is unique in Korea; there are only a few in Japan and Germany worldwide.

  • Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsanilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is a World Natural Heritage Site and one of Jeju’s top 10 scenic spots.

The scenery is said to be the most beautiful on Jeju.

It takes about an hour to go up and down.

If climbing is difficult, you can also walk along the left shore.

Its height is 182 meters.

Seongsan means a mountain that looks like a castle. ‘Ilchulbong’ means the peak where the sunrises occur.

Next up is a female diver’s performance. In the case of bad weather, the show is suddenly canceled. Haenyeo performances are held every day at 2 p.m.Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak was formed when lava erupted from the seabed. The number of stone pillars on the outer shell of the fortress is 99, and it looks like a crown that has come down from the sky. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the top of the ticket office. After climbing to the top, when you come down, you will naturally see Haenyeo Performance Beach.

  • Seopjikoji - Seopjikoji is a famous drama filming location and a coastal promenade. Along the way, you can see Seondolbawi Lighthouse. You can see Jeju’s beaches and lighthouses, and occasionally you can see women divers working in the sea. There is a legend about Seongdolbawi Rock. Due to his lack of sincerity, he was unable to marry the fairy. In sorrow, he waited for his fairy to come down from the sky and turned to stone while standing there. There is a legend that if you swear an oath of love in front of a menhir and get married, you will have a wonderful child, perhaps because of the heartbreaking heart of the son of the dragon god who failed to achieve love.
  • Woljeongri Beach - ‘Woljeong-ri’ is a village with a lyrical landscape that means ‘the moon stays’. The beautiful emerald-colored sea spreads out like a picture, and the bright moon shines above it.

As the beautiful scenery of Woljeong-ri has become famous among travelers, more and more people are visiting Woljeong-ri Beach, and accordingly, various restaurants, cafes, and accommodations are lined up. Some cafes have chairs where you can take a break while looking at the sea, and photos taken while sitting on these chairs became famous and became a photo spot.

The coastal road drive course is the best way to travel around Jeju’s beaches.

  • Haenyeo Museum - The Jeju Haenyeo Museum is located in a fishing village overlooking the white sandy beach in Sehwa-ri, Gujwa-eup. It exhibits materials related to the ocean, fishing villages, folklore, and fishing, focusing on Jeju’s haenyeo culture, which has a history from before the beginning of time. All exhibits inside and outside the museum were donated by haenyeo. In the exhibition hall, the actual haenyeo’s house was also donated and moved, and food culture, childrearing, half-urban farming, and Yeongdeunggut culture are displayed in detail. The 7-minute video is definitely worth watching.

The garden in front of the museum was the second gathering place for the haenyeo who participated in the January 1932 protest, the largest women’s anti-Japanese movement in Korea. The Jeju Haenyeo Anti-Japanese Movement Monument was built there to honor the spirit of the Haenyeo Anti-Japanese Movement, showing the tenacity of Jeju women’s lives.

  • Dongmun Market - Take a tour of Jeju’s traditional markets. A variety of food. You can see the life of Jeju people. Look back at the market that can only be seen in Jeju, and look at the busy life of Jeju and find a side that you have not seen in other travel destinations.
  • Jeju Horse Pasture - 제주마방목지

5.16 Jeju Horse Ranch on Road is where you can see Jeju purebred horses, which have been designated as Natural Monument No. 347 since 1986. They are also called Gosoo Horses because they leisurely run around in the Hallasan grassland. The horses here are known to be gentle and follow people well, and they are said to have the strength to withstand the cold. Jeju Horse Ranch is a cultural heritage protection area, so entry into the ranch is prohibited, and grazing is restricted in the winter, making it difficult to see horses. Depending on the weather, on a clear day, you can take pictures of horses grazing and running around in the wide, green grassland and make beautiful memories, and on a cloudy day, you can see Jeju Horse Ranch, which is foggy and dreamy.

Jeju horses are the horses of Genghis Khan in China and can only be seen in Jeju and Mongolia. The sight of horses eating grass is very peaceful and puts people’s minds at ease.

A great experience - Mr Kim provided excellent service, suggesting new experiences such as Saryeoni Forest Walk. He listens to what we want to do and works these very nicely into our itinerary. He is attentive and his recommendations for lunch are great - best meals for the trip. Thank you Mr Kim.
