Jordan and Petra exceeded our expectations - Excellent Tour. Our guide and bus driver were great. Abrahams gave us full details of what to expect at the Allenby Boarder. Our guide was informative and answered many of our questions about Jordan in general. It was a young group (excluding ourselves) and we loved it. We had a full day in Petra from 8:00-18:30 with an option to do Petra by night, which some of the group did. I would highly recommend this tour. It worked well to travel into Jordan with Yom Kippur happening in Israel. Food and accommodation were excellent with everything covered in the price.

Petra Tour 3 days - great experience - Great experience. The tour was very well prepared and executed. The guide (Mahdi) and the driver were both very friendly and professional people. Mahdi's knowledge of Jordan and the history in general is a really strong point. He was always happy to answer all of my questions. The Bedouin's camp was excellent. The food was delicious. We took the standard tent and it was ok. It's crazy hot inside when you arrive the first and second day but each tent has a fan and with the sunset coming up quickly it will cool down. During the night temperature falls so you will need any way one blanket (there are like 3 or 4 per bad). The shared bathroom is very clean and few steps from the tent. Petra in August is doable but take a tone of sunscreen and a hat. Be careful with the locals inside Petra they will gladly rip you off often especially beside the Knazneh. The will propose you to go up to a view point to have a nice view. They will take 10-20 JD and when you get there other will ask you money again and will tell you they don't know the others! Last but not least... Please DO NOT accept any horse ride (even if it is included in your ticket) or donkey. They mistreat animals, make them work all the day in the sun and barely give them any water. I also saw people having the fear of their life on the donkey on the way to the monastery. Anyway the monastery up the hill it's not better than other monuments. If you are not fit to go there by yourself go to see other places on the Petra sita.

Insider tips for a fantastic tour of Petra - Our 3-day tour of Petra was exceptional! The tour guides, drivers, Bedouin camp, food stops were all 5 stars. A few tips I wish I'd known about: 1) The Bedouin camp was amazing. We upgraded to the rooms with A/C and private baths. Even though we were there at the end of June, temps were in the low 60s as soon as the sun went down. No need for A/C, although it was nice to have the private bath. The upgraded tents are next to the dining room, and the basic tents are downhill near the campfire, so if you are traveling with a group, no need to worry about being split up if you choose different levels of accommodation. Everyone eats at the same dining room and hangs out at the same campfire. You can also request a larger tent for families; otherwise, tents accommodate two people. The beds and pillows were awesome, and the private bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo and body wash. 2) Budget for extra expenses. At Petra, you can pay for a golf cart ride one or both ways through the Siq -- 15 JD one way, 25 JD round trip. You can also hire a mule one or both ways between the Treasury and the restaurant -- about 10 JD. At Wadi Rum, you have the option of taking a camel ride for one segment of the jeep ride through the desert. 15 JD, and totally worth it! We got our JDs in the U.S., but the exchange rate at the Jordanian side of the border was a better deal. 3) Our guide gave us 4 hours of free time in Petra after lunch. Plenty of time to stay with the group in the morning for the tour, enjoy the buffet lunch in the canyon, and then do a long hike on our own before meeting up at 5 p.m. at the bus. Some of our group had just enough time to hike to the Monastery. We took a shorter hike to the caves opposite the theater. Amazing views and easy enough for all ages. My mom and sister were wiped out after lunch, so they took the mule/golf cart option back to the visitor center and spent the afternoon at the free museum.

Would definitely do it again. - This trip was incredible. The tour guide, Abdullah, was extremely kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better tour. The Bedouin camp was amazing. The tours through Petra, Mount Nebo, and Madaba were amazing. I would absolutely do it all over again. If there was any other tour in Jordan that Abdullah was guiding, I would take that too. I honestly wish it was longer.

Amazing visit to Petra and Jordan - Petra has been #1 on my bucket list for as long as I can remember and it exceeded my expectations. I am really glad that we opted for the 3 day instead of the 2 day trip, we had about 10 hours and that seemed like the minimum amount of time I'd want to spend given the long distances that you need to cover. I'd say we walked somewhere between 10-15 miles during the course of the day. I brought hiking boots and I was glad I did, any kind of sandals and I would have slid or tripped. Tennis shoes would also work, just not open toed sandals, even the walking kind. Bring LOTS of water, the prices at Petra are silly expensive. Our guide was extremely personable and very knowledgeable, he had a real passion for the subject matter. Our driver was also very good. We spent the morning hours with him on the main road, had lunch and then had 5 1/2 hours to explore on our own. We made the trek up to the monastery (800+ steps, some of them very steep) and then headed back on the Wadi al Farasa trail which was a lot more steps. We didn't see more than 10 people on that trail and we were on it for 2 1/2 hours. The rest of the trip was very interesting, the stop at Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Wadi Rum where we took a jeep tour. The lodging was very nice, we upgraded to a cabin so we didn't have to share a bathroom, If I was younger I might have but I enjoyed the comfort of an air conditioned tent with a private bathroom. There's a fire pit with music and tea in the evening, under the stars. My only complaint was the wifi was terrible, fortunately the bus had great wifi so I could use that while driving to and fro The food at the 1st buffet and the last buffet was fantastic, the food at the Seven Wonders camp was good. Borders crossings were fine, you can pay with credit card to exit Israel (190 or 196 NIS, roughly $53US). You can also do this online but the bus is going to wait for you. Coming back there's a cash fee to exit Jordan of 10 dinars ($14US), the guide collects the passports and the fee. One more stop at the Israeli border, we got through quickly, the only person detained took about 30 minutes but she eventually got through. You spend a lot of time on the bus on days 1 and 3, almost none on day 2. This was one of 5 tours we took during our visit, 3 with Abraham and two with another company. This was far and away the best of the bunch.

Fantastic Tour - Fantastic trip, can't recommend enough. Mahdi, our guide, and Ibrahim, our driver were great. Mahdi has been to Petra so many times, he was very knowledgeable about the history as well as logistical advice on how to maximize our time. The Bedouin camp was fun - rustic accommodations but fine. It wasn't hot when I was there, not sure if that's an issue, although there is a fan in the room. Communal bathrooms were clean - not the gross camping ones you run into sometimes. Plenty of hot water, even a blow dryer. Food at the camp and all stops was great - all buffet style. Wide array of choices and everything was delicious. Petra is absolutely stunning, if you are anywhere near the area it would be a shame to miss it. On the way from Jerusalem, we stopped at Mt. Nebo and Madaba. Madaba has several mosaics, the tour takes you to St. George's to see the old map of the region done in mosaic. If you have time, stop in the Virgin Mary Church/Archaeological Park - its in between the parking area and St. George's. There are beautiful mosaics in there as well. Wadi Rum was fun, very unique landscape. The vehicles are small pickups fitted with bench seats in the back. You have a chance for a camel ride for half an hour, well worth it for the experience. After that, its a long bus ride back to the border. But the bus is comfortable and the scenery is pretty so its not so bad. And a rest stop half way to get a snack and stretch your legs.

Amazing trip with outstanding guide! - I had an amazing time getting to know the rich culture and history from our amazing guide Mahdi. Petra and Wadi Rum were stunning and well worth the visit. This tour also made several additional stops along the way to see ruins, churches, and other very important sites that perfectly broke up the trip and gave so much insight into my understanding of the region. This trip was particularly special because we went during the holiday of Eid. Hospitality and camping experience was luxurious. Don't miss this tour!

Great at the Jordan side, not so much as the Israel side - 4 stars for the Jordan side, zero for the border pickup at the Israel side. One the Jordan side, Ali is exceptional, one of the best tour guides I have seen, knowledgeable, funny, and very kind. The bus driver Safa was also very lovely. At the Israel border, the tour company tried to put two tour groups in the same bus to save cost, and the second tour was 1-2 hour behind. The bus driver won’t turn the AC on while waiting. It was quite hot and we had to stand outside. We all got multiple mosquitoes bites. We believe one girl ended up missing her flight due to the wait. She was very stressed out during the long wait and almost cried

Tour was cancelled, agreed to refund tour cost, now there's no refund and no contact. - This was the tour that wasn't. Booked this as a follow-on to an Israel trip, then October 2023 happened. Israel tour was cancelled, Abraham Tours was cancelled...not a problem, should get a refund. NOPE!!!! Numerous e-mails back and forth, they said they would issue a refund, it has not happened and now they don't reply to anything. Are they still in business? Are they just keeping the money? Better think 2x or 3x before giving them your money. If they're having problems, the professional thing would be to reply to their clients.
