Amazing Trip with Maria - I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking for a full day of sightseeing and is short on time! Our tour guide, Maria, was extremely hardworking and accommodating. She made sure my family and I were completely comfortable and engaged throughout the whole trip. Hallstatt was absolutely gorgeous and the whole city of Salzburg felt like walking into a time capsule. Every aspect of this trip was absolutely perfect!

Overall a good experience - It’s overall an excellent experience. Maria is a very good guide. It’s a long trip but if you check the map, Hallstatt and Salzburg are pretty far from Vienna. If you want to see these two most attractive places in one day, then you’ll have to accept the duration of this trip will be long.

Too long - Too long of a tour. We started at 7:15AM and by the time we came back, it was past 11:00pm - 16+ hours. Towards the end, it starts becoming extremely painful

Saw everything BUT AT WHAT COST - We saw everything we wanted to see, this is the biggest plus of the whole tour. However, I would not recommend booking this tour. Here are the reasons: the guide asked us to be ready from 7:15 but only arrived at 8:15. The first passengers were only picked up at 8:00 so the trip was delayed from the start. The van had 9 seats. 1 driver, so 8 passengers. Each seat was full after the near 45 minutes of pick ups after us and we were the third group to be picked up, which was very cramped conditions for the van that was provided. Then we set off for the tour, first two stops were pleasant enough with ample time given for us to see the sights. Then on the way to Hallstatt the heat started to kick in. The temperature outside was reaching 35 deg C and with 9 people in the converted transport van which had no aircon vents outside the front console. So the people in the front froze and the people in the back cooked which the guide couldn’t understand and kept turning the aircon down or off. Once in Hallstatt we were given 2 hours for lunch and to see the sights, it was about now we were starting to do the maths on how long it would take to get home, the guide didn’t really seem to care. Regardless 2 hours was given, we whipped around the sites in little over an hour and then waited for our time to go. Then the drive to Salzburg, which was the best guided part of the tour where the guide took us around the important sites, after that the guide gave us 45 mins free time to see the city. This was an ok amount of time. However daylight was rapidly burning by this time it was 6:30. One of the couples left the tour due to their frustrations. One of the people on the tour was over 20 minutes late to the van for the departure time from Salzburg which further delayed us (I would’ve left this person behind after 10 minutes). Then we started the 3 hour minimum hour journey home which took over 4 hours at no fault of the guide due to the road works. We got to Vienna at around 11:30pm and the guide dropped off the person that had delayed us which really annoyed the rest of us, they held us up and then get dropped off first is not fair. Bubbling in the background of this whole trip was that they had cancelled the trip on some people the day prior and they had rebooked to this trip. For some reason the money had been refunded despite them rebooking and then guide kept having arguments with them about payment etc. which seemed inresolvable as they were an old couple who don’t use internet banking to transfer money to the company. As all this was happening we took the most circuitous route to drop off people going out and back to the ring road each time when most of us were within 5 minutes walking distance and no longer than 8 minutes driving if we took smaller roads in town. Eventually we got out and walked from someone else’s hotel as we were sick of all the in and out driving. The only delays we had that were roading/travel related were due to road works on the motorway that reduced the speed to 60 on the drive home from Salzburg for maybe 1/5 of the journey. And a car accident near Hallstatt that delayed us for 10 mins. None of this is cause for using being ~4 hours late. This tour was supposed to start at 7:30 am and finish at 8:30 pm yet only finished at midnight. This was the fault of the guide not being on time and giving us too much time in Hallstatt and not being strict enough on the delays. Ultimately improvements need to be made: Better route planning, do it reverse. Do the big ticket items Salzburg and Halstatt first and then you can come back home via the other locations if time allows. I would personally skip the first stop all together. Better time management by the guide possibly including starting the tour earlier. Better car arrangements for the people. The car was a converted cargo van with 9 seats put in the back so there was no aircon. Not suitable for a trip of this nature. Better route planning for the pick ups and maybe asking people to walk to meet at a central location to save on pick up time. Better inform the patrons and have smaller groups to allow ample accomodations for people.

Don’t book - Very unprofessional tour company. They confirmed my tour the night before, then at 9pm (after they’d already confirmed) the night before the tour was supposed to start at 7am the next day, they told me they had to cancel bc they overbooked. How does a company not know they’re overbooked until the night before?? I had to cancel another tour that I had booked so I could reschedule to the following day. They promised me a free lunch and partial refund but have not provided either. The bus was very uncomfortable and they packed people in. Too rushed in each location, too much driving.

Unreliable and Disappointing Service - We booked a day tour from Vienna to Wachau, Melk, Hallstatt, and Salzburg, expecting a memorable experience with our elderly parents. Unfortunately, the tour operator’s behavior left us utterly disappointed. Last-Minute Cancellation: The operator sent a message at 5:30 PM the day before our scheduled tour, stating they couldn’t proceed. We rearranged our plans for the following day, only to receive an email at 11:40 PM, claiming a COVID-related cancellation. This last-minute change left us with no time to find an alternative. Dishonest Excuse: Using COVID as an excuse in August 2024 is unacceptable. Instead of being transparent, they should have informed us earlier about the cancellation. Their lack of honesty ruined our last day in Vienna. Disgusting Behavior: Cancelling a tour at 23:40 is not just bad service; it’s disrespectful to travelers who rely on their commitments. We won’t recommend this company to anyone. In summary, avoid this tour operator at all costs. They’ve tarnished our family trip, and their excuses are the worst we’ve encountered. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment.
