Spectacular Day Trip - We were extremely happy and glad that we chose this itinerary. Takayama is such a cute little town and the hida beef (sushi, on the charcoal tick and steamed bun) were so tasty. It practically melts in your mouth. We also had free sake tasting, We ended buying a 3 different small bottles to bring home. Shirakawa-go is such a unique place. We were lucky that it was snowing that day. Our tour guide Yoshi-San was very courteous and kept us informed of the history and areas we were heading to. The gold leaf postcard activity was pretty fun too. Overall, we are grateful and money well spent.

Amazing tour! - My experience with Japan Panoramic Tour has been absolutely amazing! From the person who met me at the station to the tour guide and driver, they all did such a great job, I was well taken care of throughout the tour. Yoshi San, the tour guide speaks fluent English and I had learned so much from him about Japanese culture and history. He guided me through the markets, took me to one of the village houses, even offered to take pictures of me coz I was traveling alone. Yoshi San simply made my day! If you happen to be in Kanazawa and would like to go to see the old town Takayama and world heritage Shirakawa-go, this is a tour you shouldn’t miss! A brand new and clean tour van, a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, beautiful scenery and delicious food. What more could you ask for?

Best day trip to see it all! - I originally planned to stay in Takayama and visit the region from there but realised it was faster and easier to go to Kanazawa from Tokyo rahter then Takayama. I still wanted to visit Takayama and Shirakawa-go though and was so happy when I found this day tour. It is a new tour but it is already so well organized. I was alone in my tour due to the covid-19 outbreak but my guide Yoshi made it very entertaining for me. He even show me how to do origami while on the road! First, you'll go to Takayama in the old township where you'll have plenty of free time to walk around for shopping and trying different food at the market. Then you'll stop for lunch. I strongly recommended that you take the tour with the lunch option included as the food was really good and cheap! And then, we headed out to Shirakawa-go with, again, plenty of time to walk around and discover the small town, before going to the last stop at the gold leaf museum. It is a pack day but it was for me, by far, the best and easiest way to visit those two historical sites. Highly recommend!

Day tour to Takayama and Shirakawa-go - I would definitely recommend the day trip to Takayama and Shirakawa-go. Due to the current viral circumstances, we were the only ones assiting to the tour. I have to thank Japan Panoramic Tours for offering us the oportunity to enjoy the lovely japanese scenery. Our guide Yoshi was great, he gave us a lots of information and kindly answered all our questions about Japanese culture. Overall, the tour is well balanced between free time and guided activities.

Lovely day with our guide Yoshi - Pretty much had a private tour 2 of us due to the tourism affected by coronavirus fear. They even came to our hotel to get the payment because our visa credit cards were not working online. Loved Takayama, architecture and all the little shops selling sake and other Japanese goods. Lunch was very tasty. Our guide Yoshi guided us through Takayama streets to pick some local snacks. He tirelessly answered all our questions about Japan overall and gave us some insight. Lovely tour, suggested to all who wants to see Takayama and Shirakawago in a day.

Great one day trip - We visited Kanazawa on my roundtrip. It is not so far from Shirakawa-go and Takayama, so we decided to go there and do that with a guided tour. I already die the Hakone and Mt. Fuji Tour so I know that Japan Panoramic Tours is doing a great job. So was it that time, too! Yoshi our guide showed us the most important spots and recommended us some places, so we could easily decide on our own what we wanted to see, when we had some time on our own. First we went to Takayama, where we tasted some sake and learned about brewing sake. My friend musn't drink, so they prepared some non-alcoholic amazake for her, that was also really delicious! After that we were able to walk around, most people only walk around the main street, but we were able even to check out a small market with local food along the river. After that we had lunch at another place. The food was very good and beautiful and we even could try some Hida-Beef. We loved the rice which was produced in this area. After lunch we went to Shirakawa-go, where we also had some time on our own to have a look around and could take many pictures and also some souvenir shopping. In the end we went to a spot above from where you can see the whole town. Back to Kanazawa we were able to put a gold leaf on a post card and eat some ice with gold on it. It was really interesting and we had a lot of fun! We enjoyed this daytrip very much! Without this guided tour we weren't able to such a lot of things! We learned a lot about special local food, history and also architecture thanks to Yoshi! That made the tour very special! If you are only staying a short time in Kanazawa, that would be the perfect daytrip for you!
