- 16 - You can choose from the following four activities:
● Spinning yarn and making bracelets, etc. from organic cotton
● Making flower ornaments using Oshima Tsumugi silk
● Crafting with Kurobuta (Black pork) leather to make bag charms, etc.
● Polishing Yakushima cedar to make wooden key-chains (additional material cost of 2,200yen is required)
*All materials are from Kagoshima
One drink is included (Choice of Kagoshima green tea or black tea).
For those would like to try, we offer the use of hot packs (made from our organic cotton) to rest your eyes, shoulder or lower back.
We also have a gift shop where you can purchase unique goods and souvenirs created by local artists!
*An English guide is provided during all workshops. We also host a Yakushima Cedar Woodworking class in Japanese only for language learners and/or those who would like a challenge.

This hands-on experience reflects our conscious living and sustainable development goals, and proceeds directly benefit disadvantaged members of our community who pour love and passion into preparing the organic cotton, Oshima Tsumugi silk, Kurobuta leather, and Yakushima cedar that we will be working with.
