Amazing day in Meteora! - In May we drove from Athens to Meteora. Since we had a rental car, we could have easily drove the loop road to see all the monestaries. The only problem would have been the parking. I can't imagine how congested the roads get during the peek tourist season. We booked with Majestic Meteora Private Tours. I contacted the tour company and they worked with me to customize our full day. Yes, it was pricey, but having a drive was so convenient. Nick would drop us off close to monestary's entrance and pick us up at an agreed upon time. Having a driver allowed us to see all 6 monestaries and the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in one exhausting yet amazing day. Nick grew up in Boston, so his English is fantastic! He knew a ton of local history and had a great personality. I highly recommend him and the family owned tour company.

Majestic is an understatement!! - We booked a tour with Nik, the co-owner of the company. We also stayed at his mom’s ABB. Nik was a great guide, giving us detailed information on each monastery and geological information on the rock formations. He was able to tell us about personal visits with his daughter to one of the convents which just added to the personal, family feel of the tour. Each of the monasteries and the convent we visited was just gorgeous. I’m in awe of the history of this area and hope to visit again and stay much longer. I highly recommend Nick’s tours! He’s local, known as Nik, the American, and knows the best places to eat! We appreciated the ride to the train station and the big hug! It’s nice to be part of the family now! His mom, Maria, is really cool, too! ️

The best Meteora tour! - Our tour to Meteora with Nick as our guide was an excellent experience! His knowledge and expertise in the area made the tour informative and insightful, especially because he's friendly and his English is fluent and it was easy to understand everything. Nick's driving skills ensured that the tour was smooth and comfortable. Additionally, it was great that he recommended a good Greek restaurant after the tour and brought us to it, allowing us to enjoy delicious local cuisine.

Great tour with a great guide - We had a 4 hour morning tour of meteora with Nick and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. He’s professional and very knowledgeable. He took us directly to Great Meteora monastery deliberately to avoid the crowds and it was the best thing! We were able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity before the coaches arrived. The tour was at our pace and Nick didn’t rush us at all. Later in the day he took us to a local restaurant which served good food and had live music which was a lovely way to round off the day. Insider local knowledge is a big plus. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his tour to anyone, and in fact now we’re home that’s exactly what we’re doing!

Memorable trip to Kastraki - We did a 4 hour private tour of Meterora with Nick…what a knowledgeable guide who also happened to speak fluent English that was very helpful ! We visited 3 monasteries which we were also able to explore at our own pace. He would stop numerous times for photo opportunities & stories We highly recommend Nick’s tour & the BnB that he & his mother, Maria operates! The place is beautifully designed & the amazing view from the rooms & the balcony is certainly majestic! Thank you Nick & Maria, especially for picking us from the train station. This is a memorable experience definitely will be added onto our journal !🥰

High Price Taxi - We took the Majestic Meteora Private tour in April 2023 during a family vacation to Greece. There were 5 of us in total, and we paid ~$220 for all of us. Our guide was nice, professional, and showed up on time. His English was excellent, as he had spent his childhood living in Boston. In total, we visited 4 monasteries with our guide. Unfortunately, this wasn't a "tour" in the sense most people would expect, and especially not for the price we paid. The "guide" was essentially a taxi driver. He picked us up at our hotel, took us to each monastery's parking lot, then dropped us off, giving us about 45 minutes to see each one before driving us onwards to the next one. We paid the entrance fees ourselves and visited these sites without him, as he waited for us in the van. These extra costs are not included in the price of this tour! While he provided some background information during our van rides between the sites, it wasn't what anyone would call a "tour". Afterwards, we got in our own rental car and drove back up the mountain to visit two other excellent monasteries on our own which were omitted from this "tour". Afterwards, we wondered why on Earth we paid $220 for a fancy taxi service up to the other 4 sites? Travelers should know that all of these monasteries in Meteora are on a single looped road which is well paved and readily accessible, and there is ample parking available at each monastery. If you have your own car, you should go on your own and save your money!
