Best experience!! - It was so fun!!! The dog was adorable and so fun to watch it hunt the truffles. The people were SO kind and very informative.

Unique experience! - This was part of a tour with a tour company and was a happy surprise. We followed the truffle-hunting dog and her handler through the forest where she found 6-7 large truffles in a matter of minutes. Then the crew set up an outdoor kitchen and cooked pasta and mushrooms for us using truffle that we found today. Good dish with wine accompanying for lunch. Pleasant fun. Something you won’t be able to see or do anywhere else!
The mushroom museum was unimpressive.

Visit Meteora, Greece for amazing monasteries and truffle hunting - I would highly recommend a visit to Meteora, Greece. The Meteora Monasteries located near Kalambaka are an amazing site. The monasteries sit atop giant sandstone rock pillars that climb more than 600 meters. At night, the town of Kalambaka is filled with the sounds of bells ringing at the monasteries announcing evening prayer.
Another really enjoyable activity to participate in while visiting Meterora, is Truffle Hunting. The tour takes you out to a beautiful forest in the Pindos mountains where trained (& very cute) dogs hunt and retrieve truffles growing underground. It was a great way to enjoy the natural part of Meteora and get a little exercise chasing & observing Bedra find and gently retrieve truffles. Following the truffle hunt, a delicious lunch was prepared and served in the forest using the truffles Bedra had retrieved. Wow! What a great afternoon we had!

Amazing local experience - This was a terrific break from the antiquities of Greece and gave us an opportunity to interact with a local business and people. The truffle hunt was very interesting. The lunch was amazing. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to everyone visiting Meteora.

Doggie finds lunch for tour group - It was amazing to watch doggie Benofra run back and forth searching and finding truffle mushrooms . It only takes her a few seconds to find one. Then only minutes later those truffles are turned into a delicious meal in front of your eyes. Truly impressive to see with your own eyes.

Fantastic and unique experience - What a wonderful experience! We loved hunting truffles with a beautiful and smart little dog, Benfra. The hosts, chef and museum guides were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Great food in a beautiful forest with lovely people, and dog of course.

Fantastic Experience - Overly enjoyed our visit with Kostas, Alex and Benfra, the truffle hunter! We walked behind and followed Benfra and watched her find the truffles and bring them back to Alex. Alexandra made us a superb dish of pasta and mushrooms, along with plenty of shredded and shaved truffles. Delicious along with a couple glasses of a local white wine. Benfra was the true star! Very enjoyable afternoon.
