Embark on a 3-day trekking adventure from Kalaw to Inle in Myanmar’s Southern Shan State. Discover the less touristy way, surrounded by colonial-style houses, cherry trees, and hill tribes.
Kalaw - Day 1:
Start from your hotel at Kalaw and traverse the rainforest (weather permitting; if there’s a rain shower, we cannot cross the rainforest) and visit Hin Kha Gone (home to the Palaung ethnic group). Following that, we’ll take a break for lunch before continuing to Myin Taik - station - Ywar Pu (overnight stay).
You’ll be treated to views of the mountains and plantations of tea and oranges.
The trek will cover 22-23 km, taking roughly 7 hours.
Kalaw - Day 2:
After breakfast, enjoy the rural scenery and a variety of vegetable plantations (seasonal) as we make our way through Lamine - Pinn Nwe and Khone Hla (where we’ll have lunch). Post-lunch, enjoy the splendid views as we proceed to Hti Tain Monastery for our overnight stay.
The journey will span 25-26 km, lasting just over 7 hours.
Inle Lake - Day 3:
Following breakfast, we’ll move through the village with views of Inle Lake and descend to the western part of the Lake’s jetty boat station (where we’ll have lunch).
The walk will be 15-16 km, taking approximately 4 hours.
After lunch, we’ll embark on a boat trip to your hotel in Inle.

Kalaw Southern Shan State Myamar Kalaw is an interesting place with colonial style houses surrounded with cherries, pine trees, jacarandas and orchards.It is located in Southern Shan State on the Union Road from Thazi to Taunggyi highway. It derived the name from Palaung dialect Kalawk which means basin. The hill tribes Palaung , Inntha ,Danaw, Danu, Taungyoe, Pa-O and Shan live around Kalaw. My name is Rohit
