Murchison River - Cruise along the Murchison on Kalbarri’s only river cruise with entertaining & informative commentary.
Ideal for everyone wanting a quiet and relaxing nature-based tour.
The lower reaches are home to a number of species of birdlife including Ospreys, Kites, Pelicans, Egrets, Australian Shell Ducks, Black Swans and our local White Breasted Sea Eagles. As well as Emus, Kangaroos and Goats are often seen on the riverbanks. The river at times can be 40mm deep with mullet jumping and small fish.
The cruise comes to an end at the Murchison River Mouth, one of WA’s most treacherous. It’s impressive to watch the water move and boats navigate the channel.
Please note: Minimum numbers are required for our cruises to depart, we will reach out to you if minimum numbers are not met for rescheduling or cancellation.
We are pram and wheel chair friendly, please advise at time of booking.

Please assemble on the grass in front of the 'Marine Rescue' building, (keep clear of boat ramp). Our vessel arrives on the beach with a wind down ramp to load passengers in front of the grass.
Arrive 15mins prior to scheduled departure time.
Car parking and toilets are available at this location

Great morning cruise - Lots of fun. Knowledgeable captain. Lots of birds to see. Comfortable boat. Loved going out near the mouth of the river at the end.

Perfect relaxing cruise, with a fabulous guide.. Cooler on the water so prepare for it. - Grant our tour operator has a genuine passion for his business. Great commentary in a very relaxing setting. After 3 days of hiking and exploring it was wonderful to relax and soak up the commercial and historical aspects of the region. The birds were amazing (my passion is bird photography) and my main reason for doing the cruise. Tea Coffee biscuits and one for Arnott and restroom facilities are available. Well worth it. Saw lots of wonderful birds the river was very high which was a bonus Loved the trip out to oyster reef before docking back on the shore. Should note that you walk onto the boat there are no steps, great for mobility issues.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.. Thanks Grant and Tracy.

Relaxing, informative and fun - Thank you Grant for an enjoyable 2.5 hours on the beautiful Murchison. Your casual, yet thorough commentary on aspects of the river from fishing to farming and points of interest of history and flora/fauna covered it all. Questions were welcomed and answered happily. The leg- stretch off the boat at Picnic Table #3 was welcome and gave us a chance to admire the unseasonal green after the heavy rains.
Our booking process was easy online.
Highly recommend while in Kalbarri to appreciate it has more to offer than stunning gorges and clifftops.

Commentary was... - Commentary was interesting, our host was full of knowledge about fishing industry, the river, surrounding farms and businesses and was very witty. Had a great time and would do again.

Lovely cruise up the Murchison River - Fantastic leisurely cruise up the river with informative and friendly crew. Scenery is spectacular and a chance to get out of the boat if you choose, for an explore, walk or photos is an added bonus. This was our 5th time doing this cruise and it's definitely on our list each time we come to Kalbarri. Thanks Grant and Tracey, for a great cruise. 100% recommend this to anyone.

Great cruise and interesting information - We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise with Tracy and Grant. They have a love for Kalbarri and enjoy sharing that with those on the cruise. They have lived in the community for years and therefore know a lot about history as well as the local attractions. We saw interesting bird life including a whistling kite eating a fish.

Facts and Fun - We loved our morning on the cruise with Grant and Tracey. A wealth of information delivered with a great sense of humor. The scenery was stunning and the weather was superb. It was a relaxed atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour
