On this one-day excursion from Chennai, we’ll explore the dual marvels of Pallava craftsmanship in Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. Our journey includes a visit to the formidable Ekambareswar & Kailashnath temples in Kanchipuram. Following this, we’ll travel to the historic seaport of Mahabalipuram to explore the famous carved landmarks such as Arjuna’s penance, Five Rathas, and the symbolic Shore temple that acted as a lighthouse for sailors since the 8th century. This all-inclusive tour includes pick up and drop off, private transportation, tour guide, lunch, and all admission fees.
- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements

One day trip through history - If you visit Chennai, you need to complete your visit with this tour, despite the hours you will spend in the car.
Kanchipuram temple will give you another view of Hindu temples. And you can complete your visit with a historical house in the city.
Mahabalipuram instead will impress you with its one-stone carving and the many stories depicted on the stones. Ramesh was also good in going in detail of the stories that we were seeing in the form of statues.
And good job for the driver who drove for long hours, particularly in the traffic on our way back to Chennai.

Major historical sites - This is a full day trip around important historical sites around Chennai, good for people who want to learn about the history and myths of the region. Nivi was a helpful and kind guide, she also brought me to a nice restaurant. Recommended!

An enchanting trip to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram - I visited Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram with my daughter. 5 Senses Tours put together a customized itinerary to suit our interests. Mr. Kannan, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. His explanation of history and culture made the trip more relatable for my daughter. Shoutout to the driver as well!
The tour included a sumptuous South Indian meal that we enjoyed immensely. Thanks for making our trip one to remember!
I will look 5 Senses Tours up for future travel experiences in India, and will also recommend them to family and friends.

Incredible Tour of Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram - This tour was very interesting and fun. Mr. Kannan was a very knowledgeable guide and provided plenty of insight on the different sights. He explained the history of the locations very well and enriched our experience by discussing different, often overlooked, aspects of historical monuments and their purposes. I would definitely recommend 5 Senses Tours’ tour of Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.

Great Learning Experience! - Great day spent seeing the temples and learning more about the history. Kannan our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. Him and Sattish our driver waited for us after we were running late. They were very accommodating to us the entire time. Ramesh at the shore Temple was amazing as well.

Excellent Day Trip with Great Guide and Safe Driver - Great day exploring these two ancient cities.
Saw a lot of unique artistry and some stunning carving that must have taken a lot of work.
My guide, Jainath, was knowledgeable on the sites we were seeing and our driver also delivered us to each destination safely and securely.
I would recommend this tour if you would like to get out of Chennai for a day and see the stunning history of the area.
