Epic Train Journey - Train bookings in Sri Lanka are complicated - so this is a great option by a reliable provider. The instructions they provided were perfect - everything worked out exactly as planned. We collected our tickets from Peradeniya station and boarded the train. The train journey itself was wonderful and we got some great pictures.

Incredible service and great guy - Unfortunate we hadn’t booked the Kandy to Ella train in advance so we missed out on a chance to get tickets. Fortunately I found this company on TripAdvisor and messaged them and they said they were able to acquire us tickets! With only 3 days in advance too which is incredible! Niroshan who was such a lovely guy came and delivered the tickets to us at the station and they were 2nd class which is even better as we were happy with 3rd class. His communication with us was amazing and kept us up to date on the tickets frequently. Book with this company if you want to get your Kandy to Ella tickets, even if you leave it a bit late like us.

Great views, unreliable operator - This is a long train journey (6 hrs +) but with great views. We took lots of snacks and water. There were also sellers of various things moving through the carriages. İ have given 3 stars because the tour operator failed to get tickets for the 8.30 train that we booked, letting us know just the evening before that we would be on the 11.05 train instead. He was polite and apologetic but ..... İf you know your plans in advance i recommend you buy your tickets on line via Sri Lanka railways then you can pick up your actual ticket at the station on the day of travel. Not only is it cheaper but there is no chance of having to go at a different time.

Expensive for no guaranteed departure time - The train ride is incredible but the whole act of purchasing reserved seating from this provider was not. I was under the impression from the listing that we would have guaranteed seating at the time we selected when booking. This is not the case. This provider does not purchase the tickets when they go on sale 30 days in advance from the railway company. Instead, he goes to the station and lines up the day you are supposed to travel in hopes to get you seats for your time. In our case, the earlier train was sold out so he could only get us the later train option. And he could only get us third-class, not second-class or first. Not the end of the world on getting the lowest class, but it was very inconvenient to pay such a premium for a $3(ish) train ticket when you don't even get your selected departure time. We had other commitments upon our arrival that we had to miss and did not have the ability to reschedule due to our itinerary. I would give 1-star but the tour provider was very apologetic and offered to give us a free tour of another part of Kandy since we had 3 extra hours in the city due to having to take the later train. Unfortunately, for us, the option he offered we had already done the day before. Buyer beware.

Book via the station yourself either in person or thought their own booking system - Paid £39 for 2 ‘reserved seats’ didn’t meet up with the person to receive the tickets despite us getting there half an hour early, phoning him ( no answer) and due to the train being delayed hung around for nearly 3 hours, had to buy 2 more train tickets at a very reasonable cost if £5, making them £34 cheaper than the originals, only difference being we didn’t have seat numbers printed on the tickets, same seat type though. Trying to get a refund for goods not received is proving to be difficult.

Didn’t receive tickets! Would like a refund! - We booked this and had arranged to meet somebody for the tickets in the morning. However, nobody met us which meant we had no tickets and had to buy extra tickets from the station. We tried to call the number given for the tickets and there was no answer. Complete waste of money. How can I get a refund for a trip I didn’t get to use?! We also found out the $49 tickets only cost $5 at the station.
