  • Meteora - We will drive to Meteora travelling through the Greek mountains not taking the highway to see the real Greek countryside. Driving by the city of Lamia, we will rest at the town of Trikala, a central town of the area, for a Greek lunch or coffee then continue to Kalambaka, Ending up at the small town that is surrounded by the rocks of Meteora

  • Meteora - You will start your visit to the monasteries and take a closer look at the holy rocks. On the rocks that are like suspended in the air (that’s what Meteora means) there is one of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries still in use. Meteora combines natural beauty and cultural heritage a fact that make them a unique destination between the world’s monuments.
    You will see all the 6 monasteries in a panoramic tour, which will offer you breath- taking views and you will visit 2- 3 monasteries, depending on their opening days and your preference.

  • Great Meteoron Monastery - The Great Meteoron (or Transfiguration of Christ) is the biggest and most impressive Monastery and it preserves two old chapels, the chapel of St. John the Baptist and of Saints Constantine and Helen.
    The architecture of the Great Meteoron Monastery is a stunning example of traditional Byzantine architecture
    Nowadays, it is used as a museum.
    The Monastery is closed on Tuesdays.

  • Varlaam Monastery - You may choose to visit the Holy Monastery of Varlaam, which is the second largest Monastery of Meteora.
    It was founded in the 14th century by a monk named Varlaam and it’s the Monastery dedicated to all the saints.
    Built on an imposing rock, very close to Great Meteoro, the Monastery offers great views !
    The Monastery is closed on Fridays.

  • Roussanou Monastery - Visit Roussanou for a different view of the surrounding cliffs and the adjacent Monasteries. Follow the pathway from this monastery to the upper main road and discover an off-the-road panoramic view point spot that allows you to walk on bear rocks!
    The Monastery is closed on Wednesdays.

  • Holy Monastery of Saint Nicholas Anapafsas at Meteora - This is the first monastery will will meet on your way from the village to Meteora.
    It stands an a very narrow rock, offering great views of the Holy rocks and the valley!

  • Monastery of St. Stephan - The Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos is one of the few female monasteries of Meteora. The exact date of the monastery’s construction is unknown but according to some evidence it was built in the 15th century. The beautiful wall-paintings of the Catholicon were executed in 1560. This is also the easiest monastery to access.
    The Monastery is closed on Mondays.

  • Monastery of the Holy Trinity at Meteora - The Monastery of Holy Trinity is located on the top of the most impressive rock and it’s the most difficult monastery to reach, as the visitor has to cross the valley and continue high up through 140 steps to access the entrance.
    In the past, the access was with rope ladders and nets and the steps were added no earlier that 1925.
    The Monastery is closed on Thursdays.

  • Battlefield of Thermopylae - We will visit the place where 10 years after the Battle of Marathon, King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans heroically faced the Persian army.

  • Historical Information Center Thermopylon - In the historical centre of the site you will take joy in a 3D movie, travelling through time you will feel the presence of all who sacrificed their freedom, killed by a foreign conqueror.

  • Leonidas Monument - Completing the visit you will see the statue of Leonidas standing opposite Kolonos Hill where the persisting Spartans left their last breath.
