Drive to Pokhara, Visit Manakamana Temple

Pokhara - Pokhara is known for its spectacular scenery, adventure activities, and a wide range of accommodation and dining options. Whether you’re returning from a long trek or a challenging bus trip, Lakeside Pokhara is the perfect place to relax. The area offers a more laid-back version of Kathmandu’s Thamel neighborhood, with a tranquil lake and views of snow-capped mountains just 20 kilometers away.

Manakamana Temple - This tiered pagoda, offering stunning Himalayan views, dates back to the 17th century but was heavily damaged in the 2015 earthquake. Despite the scaffolding, it remains a popular pilgrimage site. Visitors often sacrifice a goat or chicken in a pavilion behind the temple, with goats even getting a discounted one-way ticket on the cable car. However, there is no tradition of sacrificing foreign tourists.

Pokhara Sightseeing

Sarangkot - The view of the Annapurna Himalaya from Sarangkot is almost a religious experience. From here, you can see a panoramic sweep of Himalayan peaks, from Dhaulagiri in the west to Machhapuchhare, Annapurna II, and Lamjung in the east. Most visitors come at dawn or dusk to see the peaks transform from purple-pink to celestial gold. For a quieter experience, walk further along to the secluded grassy helicopter pad.

World Peace Pagoda - The Pokhara Shanti Stupa, or World Peace Pagoda, is a Buddhist monument on Anadu Hill, offering panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city, and Fewa Lake. It’s an ideal spot for holidaymakers, providing splendid views of sunrise and sunset. The pagoda is 7 kilometers from Mahendrapool, the main business area in Pokhara.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave - Discovered in the 16th century, the main entrance to this cave was constructed in 1991. It features two chambers with several shrines, the largest dedicated to Shiva. The cave is dimly lit with small bulbs, and while primarily a religious site, it is being developed as a tourist attraction. The cave extends about 140 meters, with a metal staircase leading to a view of a waterfall.

Davi’s Falls Pokhara - This 500-meter-long, 100-foot-deep waterfall is best viewed from June to September. It flows year-round, disappearing into an underground tunnel leading to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. Officially named Patale Chango, it is popularly known as Davis Falls or Devis Falls due to a typographical error.

International Mountain Museum - Established by the Nepal Mountaineering Association in 1973, the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara chronicles the history of mountaineering, particularly in the Himalayan peaks. Opened officially in 2004, it preserves the records and achievements of mountaineers, showcasing the rich history and mysteries of mountaineering.

Nepal family tour - Were a fam from south america. I found mr. Kiran company on the internet. We were looking for a private guided tour and a vip darshan and pooja at pashupatinath temple. We cant believe that he organised everything topclass without asking us for an advance and knowing us. The tour and service was awesome. The price was very reasonable and service top class! We didn't do any Mountain tour this time, but we will sure be doing that when we visit nepal again. we even got a singing bowl as a surprise gift. Thank you mr. Kiran for making our stay in nepal memorable!
