A Day to Remember - I booked this day hike to Nagarkot. I was picked up at my hotel. I was alone and had a private guide, Shekhar Thapa. We were driven to Nagarkot, then hiked all day, had lunch and ended at a temple. I was then driven back to my hotel. What makes the day so memorable is my guide, Shekhar. He was the perfect mix of talkative and quiet. I learned so much from him about animals. nature, eco systems. He also treks to Base Camp and told me all about Everest. I felt so comfortable with him. We had good talks about our families and our lives. It was just the kind of experience you would want to have as a lifetime memory. I'm thankful for the day and the friendship.

Trekking Simikot/Hilsa - Guge Kingdom - Mount Kailash- Everest BC - Namaste ! For our fourth time in Nepal we choose to cross the border with China. We made a little trekking to go to Simikot to Hilsa (no difficulties except raining the first day !). After we had choose to visit the Guge Kingdom; it's far (1day driving from Darchen) but what's a amazing place ! If you appreciate history don't skip this last Kingdom. Before we have been in Ladakh (India) /Himal Pradesh(India) /Mustang (Nepal)and Dolpo (Nepal) and the Guge Kingdom is the last piece of the puzzle. The monasteries suffered degradations following the cultural revolution, but we can see some beautiful wall painting from the tenth century and some original sculpture (but not so many). After we make the kora around mount Kailash (with the sun during the high pass; Droma la pass, the day after it's snowing !) Then we wanted to see mount Everest from tibetan Side (we stay 2 day at the base camp and every morning it's cloudy but after 11AM the cloud disappear so we can see the top of the world!). it's good to know that actually the Everest base camp were everybody arrive it's not the Base camp for climbers (we are stopped 8km before). After we came back to Kathmandu by the road (from Langtang Area, because after the earthquake the road between KTM and Lhassa was close). We have 2 guides for this trip; one for Nepal and one for Tibet. We really appreciate our 2 guides who do the best for us (accommodation, food, cultural seeing,...) . So we know that we have to come back in Nepal, the paradise for trekkers and climbers ! And of course we will choose Alpine Eco Trek & Expedition for our next trip; because we found the good interlocutor (Ram KUMAR). We can prepare our trip before with him, and when we are in the place nothing change, everything is planed. So thanks a lot to Ram KUMAR, Ramesh (our nepali guide) and his crew, Yangkyi (tibetan guide) and Sonam (our tibetan driver). Vincent M. (Dai) and Marie M. (Didi) from France

Everest base camp trek - For the first time visitor to Nepal and the Himilayas, there are always many questions as one tries to get a feeling for what lies ahead. We wanted to deal with a local Nepalese company. Alpine Eco trek was our choice and as it turned out it was an excellent choice to be sure. Pre trip answers were handled timely, thoroughly and concisely. Arriving in Katmandu, tired and a bit overwhelmed it is so nice to have been met and escorted to your hotel. That was only the start of our well managed and supported trek to Everest base camp. Ram Kumar and guides and porters Rajesh, Amit, and Tej were always there for us and I can,t imagine it being any better. Running into some mediacl issues while on the trek created some scedule challenges but those were handled without a hitch.Recieving that support when one is a bit down and out of sorts is so nice and continued until I was home and stable again. That is going above and beyond. Finding some extra time on our Nepalese visit, Ram lined us up for a visit to Chitwan National Park for 4 days. A warm jungle excursion with Elephants, Crocs and birds was just the ticket for recovery from altitude. Ram and Alpine Eco trek must have great connections in the industry and we were the beneficiary. Everything came off without a hitch. One can`t visit Nepal without a curiosity of the culture, religion and of course Everest. Sitting down with Ram always led to facinating talks enlightening us on what we were witnessing.Thank you Ram and Alpine Eco Trek team for a life enriching experience.

Outstanding - Please note. This website does not let me specify my actual trip date. Mine was in April 2011, but I did not want to pass up this opportunity to praise Mr. Ram Kumar for his outstanding service and hospitality then. He took care of all the arrangements for myself and my traveling companion. That included 3 days of touring in Katmandu, then the complex shuffle involved in transferring us across the Chinese border to continue our trip as a car trek through Tibet (and a train trip Lhasa>Beijing). Mr. Kumar set that all up. One day in Katmandu included a dinner Mr. Kumar hosted for us and included his wife and young daughter. A fine man who navigates the cultural divide beautifully and has persevered despite the challenges of recent events in Nepal.

Amazing Tibet Tour with Alpine Eco Trek & Expedition - Last year in October I've been with a few travel mates to Central Tibet and Everest Base Camp on a three weeks tour organised by Ram Kumar, the manager of the company, and his team. From the first friendly contact already months in advance, when it was just an idea to travel to Tibet, till we arrived in Kathmandu at the end of the trip, we had not only done a fantastic, amazing and perfectly organised travel through an unbelievably beautiful and extreme country, but also found a very helpful, trustworthy friend in Ram Kumar, who made this possible. All our wishes, what we wanted to see in Tibet he considered while planning the trip and all our e-mails and questions concerning the visa, altitude sickness, trekking etc. he always answered within a few hours. In Kathmandu he warmly welcomed us and even took care for our group personally.  The tour itsself was perfectly organised and all worked so well: our friendly, caring and knowledgeable Tibetan guides and driver, the culture and landscapes of Tibet and of course the people of our group made it an extraordinary experience! I can only recommend Ram Kumar and his company: If I go back to Tibet (and for sure I will do so one day) I'd go again with him and his team, who made an unforgettable trip come true!
