Highlights
  • Kathmandu - We pick up from your hotel inside the ring road and the Bouddha area. We suggest going early for a better view.
  • Chandragiri Hills - This is a truly amazing trip as you ride effortlessly to the top of Chandragiri Hill (Elev. 2520 m). The trip will start as you travel from your hotel by private vehicle. The cable car starts at 8.00 am in the morning and closed at about 5.00 pm daily. The ride to the top takes just 10 minutes of truly breath-taking scenery as your gondola rises above the dense jungle below. As you climb higher, the mountain ranges become more and more visible.

On top of Chandragiri Hill, walk around and enjoy the magnificent view. Here you will find the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site that honors Sati Devi, the first wife of Lord Shiva.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the finest restaurants in all of Kathmandu (meals are not included in the price). The food is excellent and the scenery is outstanding. Finally, return to your private car by cable car, traveling down the mountain before taking the short 30-minute ride back to your hotel.

  • Bhaleshwar Mahadev Temple - An enraged Shiva carried Satidevi dead body on his back and walked across the world like a madman for a long span of time, without taking note of Satidevi’s decaying body. Bhaleshwor Mahadev appeared at the spot where Satidevi’s ‘Bhala’ or the forehead fell off from her dead body then this temple call Bhaleshwor Mahadev.

Loved my Guide Shanti! - My guide, Shanti, absolutely made this tour my favorite! She arrived promptly at my hotel to meet me. In the 45 minute drive to the cable car site, she described Kathmandu history and culture while answering all my questions. Very interesting information! At the site, she collected the ticket and we began the ride up. It was a cloudy day, but I still had a good view of the city landscape. The ride up was smooth as we started passing through some heavier mountainside clouds. Once at the top, the clouds were slowly rolling in, so no good views of the mountains as it was unfortunately a cloudy day. I wanted to try the restaurant at the top once there. Shanti explained several of the different dishes and helped me order my meal and tea. Throughout giving me additional information about the history and traditions of Nepalese people. We walked around to the temple and viewed all of the displays and activities. Shanti was very knowledgeable with a wealth of information to share about the history, culture ands religious practices. She guided me through the steps to receive a blessing from the priest. I enjoyed learning about Bhaleshwara Mahadev, the temple of wishes, and making my wish, lighting the candle and ringing the bell. It was lightly raining and the mountaintop completely covered in mist by the time we left, but I still had such a great time listening to Shanti’s explanations of everything. The ride down the mountain was in complete clouds for the first half, then cleared up for great panoramic views the city again. The driver picked us up to go back to the hotel. Traffic was heavy, this took nearly an hotel, but, it went by quickly listening to cultural info from Shanti and getting her opinion on other places to see during this trip. thoroughly enjoyed this trip even without the Mountain View since I was able to learn so much!

Terrific Tour! - Looking for a day activity to fill the time before my pm return flight home, I'm so glad to have chosen the half day Chandragiri Tour! It became the perfect finale of my three weeks solo trip in Nepal. Every part of the Tour - -from the booking process, pick up, transport, cable car ride, guided tour, drop off-- was seamless and as wonderful as explained in the tour's description and even more. The cable car ride was smooth & calm yet absolutely thrilling! Although the clouds blanketed the view of Mt Everest and other peaks of the Himalaya on that day, it was still fun and a beautiful experience to literally be in the midst of clouds and that part of nature, and to tour the majestic Hindu temple was special. My tour guide, Ananta, was very punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, and polite, and not to mention, a great photographer, too. I learned a lot about the Hindu, Buddhist, and Nepali culture & history. Ananta could answer my every question and more. I also appreciated our driver and the nice, comfortable car ride. I felt safe and totally enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!

Calming Experience - 1st day in Nepal so the cool weather, fresh breeze of air, lush green trees of Chandragiri was a great escape from the scourging hot weather in the Philippines. The silence during the cable car trip hearing only the sound of nature was also very relaxing. Made special by our very well versed and knowledgeable tour guide, Sarati.

Great experience with exceptional guide and driver - Experience was great. Hotel pickup was timely, car and driver were well, and guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The cable car experience itself was fantastic, much longer ride than i was expecting. Views from atop were quite impressive despite smog blocking some of the further away mountains.

Great view of the high Himalayan peaks. - The amazing view from the top. Apparently we were very lucky to be able to see most of the high Himalayans peaks at this time of the year. The Everest remained elusive but eh! we can't have everything. We had a great guide who was really helpful with pushing my wife up the hill on a wheel chair.

Great tour with view of the himalayas. - Great tour with beautiful view on the himalayas and interesting ceremony at the temple. Our guide Ananta was incredibly helpful with the wheelchair that my wife required. He was also knowledgeable on the names of the mountain peaks and helped us to kind of take part in the religious ceremony. I can honestly say that this tour went beyond our expectations. Well done.

Excellent and Interesting day. - This was a great day out, even though the weather on the day restricted the view. Our guide Sarita was excellent. She was very knowledgeable polite and easy going. She was always watching out for us as we walked around and got on and off the Cable Car. The temple was very interesting and it was nice to sit with Sarita at the restaurant for coffee and a bite to eat while taking in the atmosphere. We can highly recommend this tour. Really worth doing.
