Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m/4,593 ft).

Ace the Himalaya - Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

Note: Either on Day 01 or Day 02, there will be a pre-trek meeting in our office. During the meeting, we will introduce your trek leader/guide. Please make sure you bring the passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

Fly to Lukla (2,804 m/9,199 ft). Trek to Phakding (2,610 m/8,562 ft)- 3 to 4 hours.

Phakding - An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 m).

After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). Walking is easy. After passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550 m), it is a short walk to Phakding.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/ 11,289 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Namche Bazaar - We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing the majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar (considered the Gateway to Everest) is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes and bakeries. Namche is the biggest town along the Everest trail.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Namche Bazaar - We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air. We will trek a short distance to a museum that is celebrated for its exhibits of the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up the Syangboche Airport and the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed hotels in the world. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas including Mt Everest.

Trek to Phorste Thanga (3,680 m/12,073 ft ) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Machherma (4,470 m/14,665 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Gokyo (4,790 m/15,715 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m/17,841 ft) and Back to Gokyo – 5 to 6 hours.

Gokyo Ri - Early in the morning, we have a steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri at an elevation of 5,483 m. There are ample rewards for those who attempt this trip – you get stunning views of the super Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, including the giants Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang.

Trek to Thangna (4,500 m/14,763 ft) – 4 to 5 hours.

Cross Cho La pass (5,300 m/17,388 ft) and Trek to Dzongla (4,710 m/15,452 ft) – 7 to 8 hours.

Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m/16,108 ft) – 4 to 5 hours.

Lobuche - A rather easier and shorter trekking route will take us to Lobuche after 4 hours of trekking.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m/ 17,602 ft) and then Back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) – 7 to 8 hours.

Everest Base Camp - This is a big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak Shep for the night.

Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m/ 18,225 ft) Early in the Morning and Trek Down to Pheriche (4,200 m) – 7 to 8 hours.

Kala Pattar - This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at 5,555 m. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep and have hot breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/ 11,289 ft) – 7 to 8 hours.

Namche Bazaar - Leaving the mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Pangboche and Tengboche before continuing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back to Namche in the afternoon.

Trek to Lukla (2,804 m/9,199 ft) – 6 to 7 hours.

Lukla - This is our last day of trekking as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trekmates.

Morning Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Kathmandu - Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains we have recently visited, the 35 minutes scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we are met and transferred back to our starting hotel.

If you are interested in extending the trip, there are many options such as Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities.

Absolutely Amazing Experience with Sunil & Ace the Himalaya - I had the best experience ever with Ace the Himalaya, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the best guide out there Sunil Neupane!! We managed to get to Lukla on time with no delays which started our trek on a high note and it continued to be wonderful the whole way through. Weather/Snow effected our original plans but thanks to Sunil’s unmatched quick thinking and experience in the mountains we still got to do everything I wanted - Goyko, Cho La Pass, and EBC, while other trekkers and companies didn’t get the chance because they didn’t have an experienced guide like Sunil. Sunil treated me like family and made sure I was always doing amazing. Also his humour made the long days much more enjoyable! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the Ace team and Sunil for anyone looking to trek in Nepal! We had the best time!

Experienced ACE company and good guide Raj - This is my first time hiking in Nepal and I’m lucky to go with the ACE the Himalaya for my Everest base camp (EBC) hiking. This company has a high reputation for good organization of all kinds of EBC hiking. We participated a pre-hiking meeting given by Mr. Prem which let us well-informed about the key points and the details. The officier Mr. Sujan kept all the things in control. I like our guide Mr. Raj Kumar very much. He is experienced, supportive, handsome and helpful. Raj has been working as licensed guide for 11 years. First of all, he managed to get us on board the precious flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which would usually be re-scheduled or even canceled. Everyday, Raj would carefully designed the hiking route and tell us the expected arrival time. Amazingly, his estimated time was usually very accurate because he had observed our walking speed on the way. When we got to high altitude area, Raj would ask whether we suffered from any discomfort and check our blood oxygen level and heartbeat each day. If you think these are routine work for a guide, then I would like to say that Raj cares about his customers and willing to do extra work to improve our experience. He waked up at 3:30am in the morning three times to check the weather for us, and lead us climbing Gokyo Ri twice within 24 hours to let us enjoy the stunning view of sunrise on Cho Oyu. When I did not stand stable and about to fall when we cross the Cho La Pass in snow, Raj hold me still from behind. Otherwise I might get injured. Same thing happened when we walked on slippery snow-covered stones to the EBC. Raj would carry my backpack when I felt tired, and always encouraged us to think positive. My teammate and I were very happy although the weather might change and we suffered a little altitude sickness. We are grateful to this company and the guide, and would like to recommend ACE the Himalayas and Mr. Raj as the tour guide if you plan to hike or trek in Nepal.

Most memorable experience of life.. - I finished my EBC- Gokyo trip with our group of 7 friends. I would like to thank Ace and my guiding team which includes our lead guide Pasang Dawa Sherpa, Asst. guide Sauman and four porters Deepak, Robin, Hem Tamang, and Gombu for making this challenging trip so wonderful. Pasang and team was the great help at every step of our journey and they took care of everything we needed to finish this challenging trek successfully. Pasang understands the dynamics of the group and the individuals strength and weakness very well. He made sure that each person is getting one-on-one support on difficult terrains and no one was left alone. Sauman was also great support providing the daily briefings for next day’s trek, keeping the oxygen level monitored. This trekking trip is the most wonderful experience of my life and I would like to express my gratitude to ACE, Pasang and team to make this journey unforgettable.

EBC Gokyo trip with Ace - I just finished my EBC Gokyo hike with Ace. This was once in a lifetime experience and involved lot of preparation in terms of training, hiking gear purchase and the entire planning. Our group guide Pasang Sherpa was very responsive and made all this very easy. The trek to EBC is very difficult involving different terrain, breathing at high altitude with low oxygen levels, weather challenges etc., Pasang ensured we have all required info to navigate successfully and also gave us good info of the mountains. Assistant guide Sauman was superb and kept us on schedule with daily briefing, o2/pulse checks and meal planning. The team of porters was full of energy and ready to help especially Robin who helped carry even my day pack when I was completely exhausted . Overall Ace and Pasang’s team made this once in a lifetime experience possible and memorable. Would definitely recommend them. Thankyou

EBC-Gokyo-Ri - I did the EBC-Gokyo Ri tell with Ace The Himalayas and our guiding team comprised of lead guide, Pasang Dawa Sherpa, asst. guide Sauman, and porters Robin, Deepak, Hem Tamang, and Gombu. Having done multiple guided high altitude climbs, I think Pasang is the best guide and an expert at both guiding and understanding the dynamics of a team. His tips were invaluable in making go no-go decisions during the hike and instrumental in all of us completing the hike. I would love to go on future climbs with him as my guide and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a solid and level-headed guide on high-altitude expeditions.

Experience of Lifetime. - We embarked on the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trekking trip with Ace the Himalayas, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the mountains. I had the chance to immerse myself in mountain life and witness the grandeur of the Himalayas firsthand. Our incredible support team consisted of our lead guide, Pasang, assistant guide Sauman, and a crew of four porters—Dipak, Hem, Rabin, and Gombu. Pasang and Sauman were exceptionally knowledgeable, answering all our questions and explaining the heights and significance of different mountains along the way. The final four days of the trek, from Lobuche to EBC and back through Dzongla, Chola Pass, and Thangnak to Gokyo, were especially challenging. The rugged terrain made the journey difficult, but our guides and porters provided one-on-one assistance and ensured that we completed the trek safely. They continuously monitored our blood oxygen levels and briefed us every day about the upcoming segment of the trek, addressing any concerns we had. This trekking adventure stands as one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life, and I will cherish the memories forever. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Pasang, Sauman, and the porters for their unwavering care throughout the journey. A special thanks to the team at Ace the Himalayas for providing such an outstanding group to make this adventure so memorable. Thank you!

Wonderful EBC trekking experience - Our Everest Base Camp trek with Ace the Himalayas was a once-in-a-lifetime journey that left me with unforgettable memories of mountain life. The experience was truly remarkable, and I couldn't have asked for a better team to guide us through the Himalayas. Leading the way were Pasang, our lead guide, and Sauman, our assistant guide, supported by an amazing team of four porters—Dipak, Hem, Rabin, and Gombu. Pasang and Sauman’s expertise was invaluable, as they patiently answered all our questions and shared insights about the mountains, including their heights and significance. The most challenging part of our trek was the final stretch from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and the return journey through Dzongla, Chola Pass, and Thangnak to Gokyo. The terrain was tough, and the trek was grueling, but our guides and porters were there for us every step of the way. They ensured our safety, provided one-on-one support, and monitored our blood oxygen levels daily. Their briefings for the next day's trek were thorough, and they were always ready to address any questions we had. This adventure was an incredible highlight of my life, and I’ll forever cherish the experience. I want to extend my deepest thanks to Pasang, Sauman, and the porters for their dedication and care. Additionally, I’d like to thank Ace the Himalayas for assembling such a phenomenal team that made my trek truly special. Thank you!

Thanks to Ace for making the challenging trip a beautiful experience. Very reasonably priced for the excellent service provided. We had the best guiding crew I think anyone can have. Our lead guide was Pasang, assisted by Sauman and porter crew of Dipak, Hem, Rabin and Gombu. The guides and their team took excellent care of us. They understood the strengths and weaknesses of each one of us and supported each accordingly. In an environment fraught with challenges, Pasang and team were like family who ensured all of us completed the trek successfully. Thank you, Ace, Pasang and team!
