Additional Information

The inhabited place of Gokyo (4750m) is located at the edge of the third in a succession of small, azure mountain lakes. From the ridge of Gokyo, a climb to Gokyo Ri’s lofty viewpoint (Trek to Gokyo Peak) (5350m) presents a panorama of four peaks surpassing 8000m - Cho You, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. Opportunities for further discovery and high-altitude adventures abound, one of which includes crossing Cho La, a 5420m-high pass leading to Khumbu, or another climb to Gokyo Ri. For your return journey, deviate from the usual Gokyo route and pick another path back to Namche by conquering the Renjo La pass (5340m) rather than retracing your steps along the Gokyo valley routes. This alternative makes the trek considerably more thrilling and demanding, or proceeding to the Everest Base Camp just across Cho La pass can mark another milestone of accomplishments.

Big up Basecamp Adventures - This trip was quite frankly one of the best thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. Any expectations I had for what we would see and do were massively blown out of the water - the trails, scenery, mountains and lakes were just breathtakingly beautiful and very humbling. It was all made even better by our incredible guide Prakash who was nothing but a superstar - he was very professional, attentive and informative while being a great laugh and companion. Equally our Porter Indra was a superhero, how this guy carries the duffel bags over the same 200-odd KMs with such a big smile on his face is beyond me. Finally Basecamp Adventures themselves (and Shree the owner) were brilliant, excellent communication from the moment we contacted them, meeting us at the airport in Kathmandu and then looking after us every step of the way. I’d 100000% recommend doing this trek with these guys (and specifically asking for Prakash to guide you!), you will not be disappointed!

Truly unforgettable experience - Had THE most incredible experience doing the Everest base camp and Gokyo lake trek with base camp adventures - a truly unforgettable two weeks!! Our guide Prakash was top notch, making sure we paced ourselves, taking us to all the best view points and he had such a thorough knowledge of the area and country. Our porter Indra was also amazing and was so attentive during the whole trek. Could not rate this experience more, if I could give it 10 stars I would!!

Gokyo Ri - My partner and I just wanted to say a big thank you to Shakti, Saroj & Shree at Base camp adventures. We were ecstatic to have the opportunity to spend our walk with an exceptional guide. Nepal is an amazing, beautiful place! And we are lucky and glad we completed the walk and made it back safely under Shakti’s guidance. Shakti made the walk no stress, and the service provided was in a friendly and humble manner which was top class. Even the porter who also done an amazing job. We feel as though we left Nepal with an extra friend. We were both sad when our time with you came to an end. both the guide and porter where extremely professional, friendly and caring. For that, myself and Josh hope to see you again in the near future 😁

Simply stunning - What a spectacular trek this is! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this amazing trek, which was perfectly organized by Shree and Base Camp! I really really recommend doing a trek like this which is far less touristy than the traditional Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Base Camp Treks. And do consider Base Camp Adv. who made the trip so memorable!

Very rewarding experience - My friends and I were interested in doing a more off-the-beaten-path trek, so Base Camp recommended us to do the Gokyo valley trek. And boy were we happy they did. It was absolutely spectacular scenery, as we saw tons of snow peaks, turquoise lakes, and you could really feel the Tibetan culture (with all the prayer flags). No photos can really do justice to the kind of things we saw and experienced. I also must mention our amazing guide Shiva who did everything right. He was always very attentive to our needs as he could see that some of us were struggling a bit with the altitude. In all, I cannot recommend this trek and Base Camp enough.
