Gokyo Valley houses the global top freshwater lake system (4700-5000 m), consisting of 19 lakes of various sizes. Besides, there’s the Gokyo village (4700 m), a charming settlement located beside the third Gokyo Lake. It features several stone buildings, predominantly tiny hotels serving tourists and hikers. Beyond the valley’s picturesque beauty, the trek includes crossing numerous Sherpa communities and Buddhist temples while enjoying the constant panorama of the Khumbu Himalayas.

One of the most captivating parts of this trekking trail is the magnificent view of the large ice ridge situated between Cho You and Gyachung in the Khumbu region. It also features high altitude lakes. This trekking route ultimately brings you to the renowned Gokyo Ri (Gokyo Peak), which offers a breathtaking view of hundreds of delightful landscapes.

Gokyo Lakes trek is amazing!! - The Trek is really amazing. It is nice because it's not as busy as the Everest base camp trek and the views are equally good. The towns on the way are beautiful - the lodges are nice. I really liked the trek. On my trek I did hit a major snow storm and lost some of the views, but still it was a really nice trek.
