A truly amazing experience with Swotah Travel and Adventure!! - It is unfortunate that I am only able to give 5 stars for this review. I would give a million if this site would allow it! When first arriving to Nepal with my very close friends and travel companions, we were doing some trekking with another adventure outfit that also did a great job. However, it was on the journey with the other group that I met Kumar. After trekking beside him for the duration of our first large journey, my personal group became quite good friends with Kumar immediately (I would soon find out that his personality is like no other and his knowledge of his amazing country is second to none when requiring a guide). Once our first adventure had concluded, we immediately signed up with Kumar and his excellent son, Nino to go on an lengthy homestay trek to many of the most beautiful spots and small villages and towns imaginable. They introduced us to many amazing people and experiences that I will never forget as long as I live! They made sure that everything was taken care of in regard to food, lodging and nearly every other aspect of the journey. Needless to say, going on this adventure with Kumar and Nino was nothing short of incredible! My friends and I made a multitude of lifelong personal friendships, faced an entire town on fire and assisted in extinguishing the flames, hiked some of the most treacherous landscape on the planet, witnessed some of the most beautiful sights imaginable in the natural world and personally challenged ourselves everyday. I have never known such peace and quiet in my life as I did on the highest parts of our journey together, and until I am able to go again, I'm not sure that I will. I look forward to the prospect of returning to Nepal again someday in the future and reconnecting with my dear friends that I have come to recognize as virtually family! But with this review, I want to be sure to express my sincere opinion. Sure... You can go to Nepal and have a very nice series of hikes with a very nice crew that will take you very nice places and help you do some very nice things. But... If you are truly up for the adventure of a lifetime, why would you not book and travel with the amazing team at Swotah Adventures?? In the grand scheme of life, I believe it would be foolish not to! You would be missing out on not only the greatest sights on the planet and conquer the greatest test of endurance, patience and fortitude of your life, but you will see and do things nearly no one else has done. You will make spectacular life-long friendships and you will leave Nepal wondering only when you will be able to return again! Do Something you never thought you could and truly surprise yourself!

Great, a must do! - There is nothing better than Nepal and its magnificent landscapes for a trek. We had the chance to be accompanied for 6 days by Kumar with our children aged 5, 7 and 9 and it was a great experience. The pace was perfectly adapted, the people were very kind throughout the course, the food was very good and the landscapes were superb. We absolutely recommend!

Great company, perfect itinerary - We combined two days of the Millenium Trek with a yoga homestay, cultural sightseeing and four nights at a yoga retrreat in Pokhara. Swotah created an imaginative itinerary and looked after us excellently throughout, adjusting the travel to accommodate my hip injury and keeping in touch to ensure we were happy. The team are great, full of enthusiasm and keen to help, they want you to love Nepal and respect the environment: we did and we do!

Indelible experience of my trip - The trip was just what I needed for a break from the city where I am from. I’ve hiked before but this time there were so much more elements which made the experience extraordinary. The scenery, the fresh air and the delicious meals were like a warm hug i never knew i needed. Overall, the activities were well-organised and i have had a great experience. Definitely recommended!!

The best decision i have ever made in my life to choose them. - I went along with my friends in a group of 8. We came from Malaysia. Our guide Kumar and the team provided excellent and efficient service. I felt as if I was home with my family. Everything went on smoothly and as planned. The view was gorgeous and I am having it deeply kept in my mind. The homestay family welcomed us with their big arms and we were served food that felt extreme on our taste buds.

An excellent opportunity to combine a trek with a cultural experience - This trip was exactly what I had envisioned. I think it is ideal for a reasonably fit traveller who wants to combine a trek with local experience. The trek was at lower altitude than the treks to Anapurna and Everest base camps. That meant that the trek was somewhat easier than at higher altitude, but was still enough to provide a challenge. In contrast to those treks, it was non-commercial. During the week of the trek we saw only local people. The lifestyle of the people we saw has changed little over time. Stays were in people's homes, where we shared the food that they cooked for their families. The people we met were universally friendly, although little English was spoken. They welcomed being photographed. This was very much a genuine experience where we were able to participate to a limited extent in the usual lives of the people we met. Ajay and Lesia, who operate the travel company were remarkably friendly and helpful. I had dinner with them on two occasions. The two guides Kumar and Chandra were both excellent and helpful. I have travelled to over 40 countries and this was definitely in the top few experiences. There are very few people who take this trek, which is unfortunate. Someone like me who enjoys being in places that other tourists are not will particularly enjoy the experience.

Swotah is the real deal. Millenium trek is a must see. - My itinerary: Pokhara for seven day six night Millennium trek, Chopper flight to Annapurna base camp from Pokhara, Guided tour of Kathmandu. First of all I would like to thank the team at Swotah travel: Ajay, Lesia, and my guides for the trek = Raj Kummar and Chandra, and my guide for Kathmandu = Bikash. You are kind and personable people. It is my pleasure to have met ya’ll. At the risk of sounding effusive this team is a collection of exemplary ambassadors; true emissary’s of Nepali culture and heritage. The Millennium trek takes a circuit through the Himalayan foothills that is off the beaten path. I believe that Raj kummar and Chandra know every: rock staircase, goat trail, and shortcut through a village there is to be had in a seven day ridge run; around the valley. Both men are upbeat and kind, so the days are full of laughter, surrounded by the ineffable views of the jungle and Annapurna mountain range. The family's at all the home stays where always kind and welcoming. These are rural areas, so do not expect resort stays. If you like cultural immersion and a good physical challenge then this trek is highly recommended. The guided tour of Kathmandu given by Bikash was most excellent. We saw four UNESCO world heritage sites. It was given in a private car with a driver. Bikash works for the National Art Museum and has a degree in art restoration. He is very knowledgeable about: Nepali history, art, and the religions of Nepal. He is a distinguished conversationalist and wealth of knowledge about his country. Although I may be biased, as this is my first trip to Nepal, and for what my opinion is worth to someone who does not know me. Swotah travel is highly recommended by me. They handled all my hotel bookings, tour bookings and helped me to prepare for the trek. All with personal attention to me and the minute details. They did what they said they would do, when they said it would be done.

Beautiful tour and cultural immersion - This was definitely an off-the-beaten path tour. We wound our way up and down some beautiful Nepal mountains (going no higher than about 6500 ft) and met many lovely, welcoming Nepalese villagers. Our homestay night accommodations were private and clean, and meals were delicious. Our guide, Raj Kumar, was excellent - always looking out for us and altering routes when needed. Villagers presented several cultural events for our benefit! My only caveat for this "flat" trek, is that there is actually a lot of climbing and descending each day, averaging maybe 2,000 or more feet up and down each day. We also spent a packed day in Kathmandu at the beginning of the trek visiting World Heritage sites with an excellent, knowledgeable guide. Finally, Swotah helped us by arranging a one hour Himalayas flight tour, flying past all of the incredible peaks, including Mount Everest, K2, Annapurna etc. In summary, it was an incredible cultural immersion type of trip, well-planned by Swotah, and well-executed by our guides and porter.
