Great cruise excursion! - This was an excellent excursion for our cruise stop in Ketchikan. Our guide Zach was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions about local flora and culture. We even got to see a bear fishing for salmon! Highly recommended!

Experience Rainforest & Totems and Escape the Crowds - Rainforest Walk & Totem Park Small Group Tour done on Sept. 13, 2024 with Zach as our guide from Wild Wolf Tours. Fantastic! Zach picked us up at Cruise ship terminal in a comfortable minivan, 6 adults on our tour. Drove to a Tongass Rainforest Trail that had no other people, beautiful lush forest with waterfalls, Zach pointed out the types of trees, plants, mushrooms, led us to the Pacific shore, gorgeous view of islands. Zach was fun and high energy, even jumping into the stream to try to catch visible salmon, then we went to the Potlatch Totem Park. Again, very few people there. Stories of Indigenous tribes, how totems are made, awesome totems and buildings, pretty site on the water, nice gift shop with handmade items. Wow, did we get away from the crowds and have a great time! Highly recommended! Thanks Zach!

Wonderful tour - I loved this tour! It was the perfect amount of nature and information about the local plants and trees, and totems with background information about the original people of the area. Our tour guide Jeff was knowledgeable, interesting, and made the trip really enjoyable despite the rain. He was prompt and a good driver, and had a lot of great information to share with the group. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Austin, was a... - Our guide, Austin, was a wealth of information from the minute we got in his van. From talking about the recent landslide to discussing the vegetation in the rainforest to the tribal information at the totem pole park -- nothing went uncovered. He answered questions thoroughly and factually. Very knowledgeable.

Zach Rocks - We went on the hike and totem pole excursion a week ago, and I highly recommend the experience. Is it earth-shattering? No. Is it interesting, informative and entertaining, absolutely. What made the tour for my wife and I was our tour guide, Zach. We were a bit concerned about him at first because when he picked us up at the dock, clearly he’d just jumped out of bed and probably overslept, but at least he got there on time. What we most enjoyed was his passion for nature and history and the importance of maintaining both for future generations. As we walked through the forest we didn’t go far before Zach noticed something, stopped us, and taught us something fascinating. The highlight of the hike was when he literally got on all fours and inserted himself into a mound of dirt, much like a hibernating bear. He came out of there an absolute mess, but he didn’t care. He gave us something to remember. Later, when we visited the totem pole park, Zach literally walked to the edge of the lake, and we were all looking at each other like he was nuts. What does he do? He walked back to us having located five sea creatures! It was the most hilarious thing I’d ever seen. If you go on this tour, ask for Zach. He’s well worth the experience.

A locally run tour that was worth the time spent! - We had a very good time on this excursion. The weather was very nice and Zach did a great job letting us know all the different regional and historical facts about Ketchikan. The rainforest walk was short but very nice, the waterfall at the middle was pretty cool. We also got to try some fresh blueberries while on the trail which was super neat!

Short tour through the woods to a salmon stream and a stop at a gift shop/totem pole display. - There were not really any memorable moments. The salmon stream was the best part which lasted a short time. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable but was in a hurry the whole time. Tour didn’t meet my expectations nor description listed online.
