Amazing tour of ketchican - Had an amazing tour with Nic, who was extremly knowledgeable and passionate about ketchican. We were fortunate to see about 4 or 5 bears three of which caught salmon. Highly recommend this tour grrat value for money

Relaxed and fun wildlife tour - We wanted to see a bear (and realize that there aren't guarantees with wildlife). Nick went above and beyond to make sure that we saw a bear. Nick listened to what was important to us and did what he could to help us have that experience. We really enjoyed learning about local plants and nature, with the added tidbits from someone local. It actually felt like we were hanging out with a buddy for a few hours. We had a really great time just being out of town and in nature. It was a very relaxing afternoon/evening. Nick was also able to recommend some restaurants and shops in town, too.

Wonderful - Great tour. Very knowledgeable. Went to the salmon ladder, creek, waterfall and totem poles. Missed a bear by 10 minutes.

Great shore excursion - Great way to see a little bit of Ketchikan outside the cruise port area. Saw eagles and a bear. Guide was a local to Ketchikan (a first for me in Alaska) so it was nice to hear about his experiences.

Just ok - The guide was informative and interesting. We visited a beach where we saw crabs, mussels and starfish. We stopped by a stream in which salmon were swimming back to their origin, and thus it was an attractive setting for eagles and a bear. We glimpsed the black bear running away into the bushes and saw an eagle catching a salmon. We also briefly stopped by the totem pole park, which we would have liked to know more about but we were then short on time. The vehicle we rode in was old and worn. As we were driving the running board kept falling down and causing the driver to have to stop and push it back in place. We learned that the price we paid for our tour was $20 or 29% over the list price charged by the tour operator to other passengers. In the future I will directly contact the tour company for reservations.

All in one, except animals - We saw all Ketchikan had to offer in this tour. And that was not much - if you are a nature lover. Let’s go over the list, salmons on the ladder, zero. Whales at rotary beach, zero. Bears at herring cove, well two, in a grassy field behind the wooden platform the zip line tour was using. We did see them foraging in the grass, through the slats on the zip line boardwalk. The totems were interesting. For a tour of Ketchikan sites, you can walk around town. For viewing animals in nature, you will have to book a more expensive tour. Also, with over 12,000 guests in the town, today, from six other ships, there were several other tour companies at every stop creating congestion.

Not Worth Your Time - The 2 1/2 tour started about ten minutes late. The guide drove us around and talked about the wildlife and talked too much about plants he is seeing on the side of the road. I was looking forward to seeing the totem poles but the guide said we were running out of time and so he stopped so we could see them through the van windows. I don’t understand why we couldn’t stop because the tour only lasted 2 hours, when it should have run 2 1/2 hours. Disappointing.

Not worth the cost - Although our guide was very nice, there really wasn’t much to see on this tour. We did see some eagles at the hatchery and the butt of a bear moving into the woods. Also a nice waterfall. Too expensive for what was seen. The van was in disrepair as well.
