- Ketchikan - After being picked up, you will be driven to a local beach at low tide, where you can explore the sandy beach and see starfish, sea urchins, crabs, whales, seals, eagles, and more.
- Totem Bight State Historical Park - An 11-acre park that is packed with restored and re-carved totems as well as a colorful Clan House. Providing a stunning backdrop to the totems is the park’s lush rainforest setting and the rocky coastline along Tongass Narrows.

A truly unique experience which is only offered here. Explore one of the best beaches of Ketchikan at low tide. This special excursion is ONLY offered once a day to take advantage of the lowest tide.
One of Ketchikan’s best locations for spotting bald eagles, seals, and whales from land, this beach is known for its rock and tide pools. At low tide, you can walk the beach and find dozens of different types of crabs, starfish, urchins, and sea anemones. You might even see an octopus.
After exploring, warm up at the beach bonfire and roast some s’mores.
On the drive to, or back from, the excursion, stop by Totem Bright State Park for a self-guide visit to learn about local Alaskan Native culture. And of course, see some totem poles.
This excursion is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.

Ketchikan Cruise Ship Docks
Ketchikan Rain Gauge Directions: A representative will be at the Ketchikan Rain Gauge, located outside of the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau, on Berth 2 of the cruise ship dock, holding a sign that says "Puddle Jumpers."
If your cruise ship docks at Ward Cove, we will arrange for your pickup enroute.

Great Alaskan Experience - This was an amazing experience and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. We opted not to schedule an excursion through our cruise and instead signed up for something that allowed us to walk around the ride pools. We saw and touched a number of sea creatures while hearing bald eagles. Some our party saw a bald eagle swoop down and try to grab a fish. The scenery is picturesque.
Totem Bight is a really great experience with wonderful history. At the end our driver dropped us off in downtown Ketchikan.

Nice visit to Ketchikan - They were very informative about the creatures we saw and touched. They were also very informative about life in Alaska. But it was very cold! So the fire was nice. They were very prompt and personal.

Perfect getaway - Second time on this tour. Booked through Alaska Shore Excursions. Love Alaska and this tour is a great way to get off the boat and escape the crowds to a serene and peaceful beach.

Sea urchins search - It’s the only tour we touch sea urchins and different species of sea stars. We did other tours such as kayaking and visiting other coves but we didn’t see sea urchins

Highly Recommend with local family tour! - This excursion is run by a lovely local Alaskan family. Their girls were great to help us find sea creatures and did not disappoint. They communicated prior to meeting up, they were on time…. We enjoyed getting away from tourist areas…. Highly recommend this excursion especially for kids that love to explore.

Amazing experience! - We LOVED this excursion! We wanted something a little different when we got to Ketchikan and this fit the bill. We had the amazing fortune to be the only group that morning (myself, my husband, and our daughter) so we had a very interactive experience. The van was large and comfortable for us and our backpacks. When we arrived at the beach, they already had some wildlife pulled out into a small pool for us to see and they had laminated info cards to ID the things we might see. We had a chance to explore along the shore and in the rocks and tide pools before we headed to a forested area with tables and fire pits. They had a fire going with s'mores, hot coffee and hot cocoa. Everyone we spoke with was so knowledgeable and helpful. We would 100% book this excursion through Alaska Puddle Jumpers again in the future! Highly recommend!

Fantastic time - Caught the extreme low tide with tons of exposed shoreline. Fun hunting for various sea creatures. Picked up some massive sea cucumbers! Definitely recommend for anyone curious or wanting sometime away from the ship (and it's hordes of people).

Quick easy tour with good people - Cynthia, Marta were great about meeting with us answering questions. Hanging out just being in all around. Good person. I would highly recommend this as they know great spots to see in Ketchikan.
