Knossos serves as the epicentre of the Minoan civilization, Europe’s earliest civilization originating around 3000BC. I will transport you from Chania, heading for Knossos located in Heraklio, incorporating 1-2 short breaks during a 2.5-hour journey. We’ll explore Knossos for approximately an hour, then proceed to the archaeological museum for a further hour-long visit. Afterward, we will amble through Heraklio’s pedestrianized city center, taking in prominent landmarks for about an hour. An hour-long lunch break will then ensue, before we return to Chania, a trip that will take roughly 2.5 hours.
My role does not include rendering guided tours inside Knossos or the archaeological museum, consequently, these are self-guided tours. My services encompass driving and imparting insights on Greek and Cretan history, culture, traditions and lifestyle. If desired, I can attempt to reserve a tour guide for Knossos; however, securing one can be difficult due to their scarcity and the sheer demand for their services. Do reach out to me if you need this additional service.
