Professional and interesting guide - This was a great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. She provided us with not only generally known details but also the latest theories and findings about Knossos and its history. If you like tours with a more scientific approach, I would say this is a good choice. We took the whole package (Knossos & Archaeological museum) and we even got a quick tour around Heraklion center which was a nice addition.

Ionna is fantastic - we learned a lot! - Our tour was to the Knossos museum and archealogical site for our family of four, including two children aged 12 and 14. Ionna did a fantastic job not only relaying the facts of what was in the museum, but connecting the ancient historical information to modern times. She also challenged us to re-think mass media misconceptions of ancient Greece and Crete in particular. The flow of the tour from the museum to the site was perfect in how Ionna connected everything together. She was extremely personable and efficient. We especially liked how she got our small group to the beginning of a very long line! Our son was so impressed he created a drawing of some of what he learned.

A journey to enlightenment - An absolutely wonderful tour! Our guide Ioanna had encyclopedic knowledge of the subject matter, guiding us through the various sections of the Knossos palace and the various exhibits of the museum. She placed them in the proper historical context in a calm and concise manner, taking the time to ensure that we truly understood what we were seeing and drawing links with other cultures all around the world. I think that this approach resulted in an immersive experience that is truly one-of-a-kind. If you are interested in the history and culture of ancient civilizations, I highly recommend Travel Crete Private Tours and especially our guide Ioanna.

Disappointed - We had no experience. We had to forfeit our money. The night before the tour we asked the concierge how to get to our meeting point. He told us that we would either have to pay a taxi 200 Euros each way and take a rwo hour drive in a taxi to the meeting point and a two hour drive in a taxi to return to our hotel. 400 Euros plus a tip and four hours travel time for a 1-1/2 hour tour. Our other option was to take a bus with five hours of travel each way. Viator was aware of where we were staying in Old Chania. We decided not to do the tour. So disappointing.
