Explore the rice paddies, coconut trees, lagoons, waterways, and canals of Alleppey in this one-day trip. Embark on an environment-friendly houseboat and discover the striking appeal of Kerala. Rest and appreciate the meals and tea served on board, followed by more exploration!
- Kochi (Cochin) - Discover the renowned Kerala backwaters of Alleppey aboard a traditional houseboat. Alleppey, also called Alappuzha, is nestled between the Arabian Sea and a network of rivers that flow into it. In the early 20th century, Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy of the Indian Empire, was so captivated by its scenic beauty that he proclaimed Alleppey as “The Venice of the East.”
After being picked up from Cochin Cruise Port or Cochin Hotels, you’ll be transferred to Aleppey to board your houseboat. Drift leisurely through the backwaters and village areas, taking in the lush greenery, paddy fields, coconut palms, and more. While there is no guide on board, a crew of three will be there to ensure your experience is as relaxing as possible. Savor a lunch of Keralan cuisine as you cruise gently, before being transferred back to Cochin Port or your hotel.
