This lake is located in the southeastern part of the country, near the Kochkor village with , and is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,550 meters (11,647 feet) above sea level. Lake Kol-Ukok is located in the north-eastern part of the mountain Terskey Ala-Too.The lake water is very cold. The area surrounding Lake Kol-Ukok is known for its stunning alpine scenery, including snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and alpine meadows. The lake itself is fed by glacial meltwater and is surrounded by rocky terrain.
