- Begun Bhaja - Aubergine cut in slices, marinated in salt & turmeric and shallow fried.
- Sona Muger Dal - Yellow lentils roasted and then cooked with bottle gourd, tempered with Bengal spices, with desi ghee, and garnished with freshly chopped coriander
- Bhat - Steamed Basmati rice.
- Chiken Malaikari - Delicate Chicken pieces cooked over low flame with an amalgamation of Bengali spices for a distinctive aroma and flavor of Coconut
- Macher Jhol - Classic Bengali fish curry made with freshwater fish ( Ruhu/katla)
- CHUTNEY - Sweet and sour sauce made with a concoction of tomato and dates with a crunch of cashew and raisins.
- SANDESH - A typical Bengali sweetmeat made out of chenna (cheese curd).

Ms Bratati Saha - a perfect guide - I spent four days in Calcutta, the 1st and the 4th guided by Ms Bratati Saha, a really lovely companion and guide who took me to interesting and varied places - inlcuding local Bengali restaurants - gave me just the right amount of information and included a nice amount of walking. she also knew when to leave me to browse quietly alone, and when to accompany me with pleasing chat. Altogether a perfect guide.

Wonderful cooking experience - It was a fun filled and very knowledgeable cooking experience. The food was very tasty and the aroma of the food was heavenly.
