Highlights
 • Temple of Kom Ombo - Your Nile Holiday tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to visit the temples of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. Unlike most ancient Egyptian temples, is dedicated to two gods, the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris “Horus the Elder”. The temple is atypical because everything is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis. The existing temple was begun by Ptolemy VI Philometor (180–145 BC) and continued under later rulers, most notably Ptolemy XIII (47-44 BC), who built the inner and outer hypostyle halls. At one time crocodiles basked on the River banks. A few of the some 300 mummified crocodiles found here are on display in the small on-site Crocodiles museum.
 • Temple of Horus - Drive on to visit the temple of Horus at Edfu, is considered to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus the falcon headed god which according to the Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus revenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. The present structure dates from the Ptolemaic period (332 - 30 B.C.) and is remarkable in that it is the only known temple ever to have been completed in ancient Egypt.

Practical tour which included two temples along the way - Today we had Mahmud our guide who took us from Aswan to Kom Ombo then Edfu and at the end we were dropped off at Luxor which was a great help. Not only was this tour practical but it was lovely to have Mahmud our private guide explain to us the history of Kom Ombo & Edfu along the way. We had a great day & highly recommended this tour to everyone.

A very interesting tour to Ancient and present Egypt - This tour allows you to visit not only wonderful monuments dating from the Ancient Egypt, but also to cross cities and villages between Aswan and Luxor of today Egypt. Often that's a scary experience given the absolute chaos of traffic and how drivers don't have any safety concerns. Regarding this our driver was quite good. I have to thank our guide Mahmoud Makky, always attentive and with a deep knowledge of History. Without a doubt, he was the best guide we had in Egypt.

The tour guide was on time picking... -
The tour guide was on time picking us up at 8 am, and the tour guide was very pleasant during each tour. Little bit of a long drive there and back to the hotel, but worth taking the drive to each location.

From Aswan to Luxor - If you do the trip from south to north this kind of trip is your go to and there is not much offer of this (apart from the cruisers) About the route: Kom Ombo is not as big as other temples but has the peculiarly that they worshiped 2 gods there. Edfu is more impressing mostly due to it's size. About the guide: We value his effort because spanish is not his natural language and he was nice. We would have liked to have more insights and interaction and also to have more time for free visit the temples after the explanation. About the driver: He was very polite, nice and a good driver. We are amazed that he woke up at 3:00 to pick us up at 7:00 and be home (luxor) at 15:00.
