Highlights
  • Kotor Cable Car - We start from our meeting point at 9:00 am.

To reach the amazing views of the Bay of Kotor and conquer Lovćen Mountain we will take the Cable Car, overlooking the famous Old Austro-Hungarian serpentine road from 1884 offering spectacular views of Kotor and Tivat Bays - an unforgettable start to an amazing day!

  • Kotor Serpentine - Due to windy weather, Cable Car ride can be canceled and instead we will take an old Austo-Hungarian road to reach the Njeguši village.
  • Njegusi - After admiring the magnificent Bay of Kotor, we continue our Great Montenegro tour over the slopes of Mt. Lovćen to reach the most famous village in Montenegro - Njeguši, where the best prosciutto (smoked ham) in the region is produced.

Along our winding road path we pass a number of original 300+ year old Montenegrin stone houses. Don’t be surprised to see cows and goats grazing, resting, running around or even blocking the road in the surrounding fields and slopes.

Around 09.30 am everybody should be ready for a short breakfast/snack at the oldest restaurant in Montenegro - first opened in 1881.

But before you grab a bite, your guide will invite you to enjoy a free traditional RAKIJA shot (strong local brandy), just to start your day off better

  • Lovcen National Park - After a short rest and excellent traditional food, we’ll be ready to continue our Great Montenegro tour towards the Lovćen peaks. To conquer this “Sea of rocks”, we’ll drive through the National Park of Lovćen and reach the well-known Lake Peak located at an altitude of 1.660 meters.
  • Njegos Mausoleum - On top of the second-highest and imposing peak of Lovćen sits the officially highest mausoleum in the world - where the greatest Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš rests in peace.
  • Cetinje - During the walking tour, the guide will lead you through the most important monuments that are distinguished by their beauty and historical relevance - Monastery of Cetinje, King Nikola’s Palace, Court Church at Ćipur, and Biljarda (residence of Peter II Petrović Njegoš) where we enter to see concrete relief of Montenegro built by Austro-Hungarian army during WWI.
  • Lake Skadar - We continue towards the Crnojević River for some astonishing photo shots, a scenic boat ride, and, a timely lunch break!
Here we are about to enjoy our scenic and relaxing boat ride. As the Crnojević River contributes directly to Skadar Lake, we’ll get the sense of the similar lush vegetation, water lilies, and dynamic birdlife as if we were at the lake itself.
  • Sveti Stefan - The big attraction on the Riviera of Budva is Sveti Stefan. The former fishing village situated on a peninsula became an exclusive luxury hotel-town 50 years ago where non-guests are not allowed to enter.
We have just enough time to enjoy the beauty of the island and to caption it in a photo from a viewpoint above the insland.

Beautiful Montenegro (Great Montenegro Tour) - Me and my wife did this trip in September 2024 and had a great time on the tour. Igor was our guide/driver and was very informative and clearly enjoys his job and showing people his country. This is a tour where you go in a small vehicle (which we prefer to the big bus tours). You pack a lot in during the day and we never felt rushed and would say the tour was quite relaxed even though you pack a hell of a lot in during the day. The scenery was amazing and rivals some of the best views I have seen in other parts of the world. The lunch stop was great value and a good 3 course meal and drink included. My only negative is lunch was later than I would have liked but the quality and quantity made up for it. My tip would be not to take the cable car up and instead enjoy the drive up the mountain as you stop anyway for photo's along the way and still get the great viewpoints. We would 100% recommend this tour to others so you get to see more of the country and we would do another tour with this company if we are back in Kotor again in the future.

Nina, our driver and... - Nina, our driver and guide, was simply the best of both in this full-day trip. The locations were varied, and the views stunningly beautiful. The highlight was Nina's excellence and expertise in her role as tour leader. She shared a wealth of knowledge of her country. Thank you, Nina.

Nice overview of inland Montenegro - It was a good service provided by Monte360 with pick-up and drop-off a 1 hr away from Kotor. Guide Nina was lovely. It is a packed tour, but enjoyable. I really liked the cable car ride. However, please be aware that you are paying only transportation and guide services. All other expenses, like cable car, entry park fee, river cruise and lunch easily account for additional 40% of costs but this is clearly stated in the conditions of the tour.

Unforgettable Tour - I had a brilliant experience on the Great Montenegro Tour, led by the knowledgeable guide, Milo. His deep understanding of Montenegro’s history and the local area was impressive, and he shared it all with clarity and at a perfect pace. Milo’s insights added so much depth to the stunning scenery, making the tour truly memorable. Highly recommend!

The BEST tour! - I took this tour with my 13 year old son. Our guide was Nadja, she was so knowledgeable, friendly and a proud Montenegrin. We learnt so much from her on the history of this beautiful country and she absolutely made the trip. Cable car is stunning as is the scenery. The mausoleum is incredible and well worth the 461 steps! Nadja took the most amazing photo. Lovćen national park blew me away with the rich colours, the boat ride and the wildlife. Cetinje holds a lot of history and is a beautiful place. Just book it. It’s a long day but we had the best group, met some lovely people and it’s the best tour we have ever done.
