Highlights
  • Kotor Cable Car - We start from our meeting point at 9:00 am.

To reach the amazing views of the Bay of Kotor and conquer Lovćen Mountain we will take the Cable Car, overlooking the famous Old Austro-Hungarian serpentine road from 1884 offering spectacular views of Kotor and Tivat Bays - an unforgettable start to an amazing day!

  • Kotor Serpentine - Due to windy weather, Cable Car ride can be canceled and instead we will take an old Austo-Hungarian road to reach the Njeguši village.
  • Njegusi - After admiring the magnificent Bay of Kotor, we continue our Great Montenegro tour over the slopes of Mt. Lovćen to reach the most famous village in Montenegro - Njeguši, where the best prosciutto (smoked ham) in the region is produced.

Along our winding road path we pass a number of original 300+ year old Montenegrin stone houses. Don’t be surprised to see cows and goats grazing, resting, running around or even blocking the road in the surrounding fields and slopes.

Around 09.30 am everybody should be ready for a short breakfast/snack at the oldest restaurant in Montenegro - first opened in 1881.

But before you grab a bite, your guide will invite you to enjoy a free traditional RAKIJA shot (strong local brandy), just to start your day off better

  • Lovcen National Park - After a short rest and excellent traditional food, we’ll be ready to continue our Great Montenegro tour towards the Lovćen peaks. To conquer this “Sea of rocks”, we’ll drive through the National Park of Lovćen and reach the well-known Lake Peak located at an altitude of 1.660 meters.
  • Njegos Mausoleum - On top of the second-highest and imposing peak of Lovćen sits the officially highest mausoleum in the world - where the greatest Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš rests in peace.
  • Cetinje - During the walking tour, the guide will lead you through the most important monuments that are distinguished by their beauty and historical relevance - Monastery of Cetinje, King Nikola’s Palace, Court Church at Ćipur, and Biljarda (residence of Peter II Petrović Njegoš) where we enter to see concrete relief of Montenegro built by Austro-Hungarian army during WWI.
  • Lake Skadar - We continue towards the Crnojević River for some astonishing photo shots, a scenic boat ride, and, a timely lunch break!
Here we are about to enjoy our scenic and relaxing boat ride. As the Crnojević River contributes directly to Skadar Lake, we’ll get the sense of the similar lush vegetation, water lilies, and dynamic birdlife as if we were at the lake itself.
  • Sveti Stefan - The big attraction on the Riviera of Budva is Sveti Stefan. The former fishing village situated on a peninsula became an exclusive luxury hotel-town 50 years ago where non-guests are not allowed to enter.
We have just enough time to enjoy the beauty of the island and to caption it in a photo from a viewpoint above the insland.

Well organised tour - Very well-organised tour, all the stops are well picked and the guide was knowledgeable. Enjoyed great scenery and learned a lot about Montenegro history through the tour. It involved a fair amount of walking but is definitely worth it.

Fantastic Day Tour of Montenegro - The Great Montenegro tour was fantastic and is a great way to see some of the highlights of Montenegro in a day. It's a long day (start time 9am, drop off 8pm) but definitely worth it. The tour covers a number of areas including 2 national parks, Cetinje and the Kotor Cable Car. The visit to Lake Skadar was a particular highlight as we got to swim in the fresh water and the scenery in Lovcen was stunning Our guide, Igor was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We also appreciated his group tour discipline which ensured we were on schedule at every point. I would definitely recommend this tour and the tour company.

Absolutely brilliant - We had a fantastic day doing The Great Montenegro tour. Milos, our guide was brilliant - it felt like he went above and beyond all day. There were 18 of us on the tour and we all got on really well which made the trip even more enjoyable. Views from the cable car and mausoleum were incredible, and the river cruise was really nice and the water lovely and warm. It was a long day and as such we were very tired afterwards due to how much we managed to pack into the day! Having said that, it was totally worth it and I can wholeheartedly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Montenegro!

Memorable experience - The "Great Montenegro Tour" was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my stay in Montenegro. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this 11-hour journey, which seemed to fly by. The well-organized tour offered a perfect blend of stunning landscapes and insightful commentary. We had the pleasure of having Nadja as our tour guide and couldn't be more impressed! Nadja was incredibly friendly and delightful, making us feel welcome and comfortable from the start. Her extensive knowledge of the history and culture of Montenegro greatly enhanced our experience. It's clear that she genuinely enjoys what she does, and this made our time with her all the more special. I would not hesitate to recommend the "Great Montenegro Tour" to anyone visiting the country. It’s a fantastic way to see the best of what Montenegro has to offer and gain a deeper appreciation for this beautiful land.

A must do - I went in our mini bus and took the serpentine road whilst others took the cable car up the Lovcen mountains. What an experience on the narrow winding roads. What a driver. Cable car is one way and I now wish I had done this. I was going to try and ‘pick up the courage’ to do it on the way back. Next time as I will definitely do it again. I was worried about the open height thing. We stopped for breakfast at Veadika in Lovćen national park. I had a coffee and Vegetable omelette with bread. More like scrambled eggs, but very nice. 7 euros and amazing views that are worth that alone. Next to the Mausoleum where I actually walked the steps. I was intending to wait in the cafe, but what the heck. I’ve done most of Diamond mountain walk, Hawaii under duress and with palpitations in spots so surely I could do this. Honestly, a must if you can. I just could not do the last part of the walk, but some amazing pictures was given to me. Beautiful and religious with lots of history provided by our very informative guide. Excellent English and fun too. Made our day! Lunch was at Stari Most restaurant Kinova before the boat trip on Crnojevića lake. I had the fish option. 12 euros for fish soup, bread, salad bowl, fish, vegetables and potatoes, cake and a glass of local red wine. Other drinks, vegetarian and chicken options available. Such great value. Then off to Cetinje. Although I only left there yesterday after 4 nights it was still a lovely hour to spend and still found information we did not know. Also got into the monastery which I did not do whilst staying. A wonderful young lady as a guide and driver. I cannot recall their names, but we went on the trip with 360 Monte, on Saturday 15 June. Thank you! I tried to upload pictures, but had problems

A nice experience - Beautiful views and interesting knowledge of history! It would have been a good idea to tell the longer stories of the country’s history in the bus during the long rides, instead of standing put outside in the heat.

Great tour but expensive - Very long day but amazing experience. Be ready to climb and exercice a bit. We started at 9.15 and and finished at 9 pm. Beautiful views and nice history background. However, the tour is expensive asbyou must pay some additional charges like cable car (13 e), lunch (18e), mauseleum + national park (16e) so the trip is expensive!!. The national park is the mauseleum is and where you will take the boat (no waterfalls, nothing else fancy to see). Finally, I have a lot of wonderful memories.
