Kraków - We are going to show you how to make pierogi like a pro. At the beginning, you’ll go shopping at the bustling market, and you will get from your guide all the insider info on the fresh vegetables and produce for sale along the way. Your guide will even be able to teach you some expressions in Polish if you wish so that you can barter at the market like a true Krakow native!
Next on this Krakow tour, you’ll be taken to a family home, where you’ll be able to put all that delicious fresh produce to use and get some cooking lessons from Krakow locals. You’ll be taught how to make a pierogi, a typical Polish dish (kind of like a dumpling). Whilst you’re cooking you’ll have the chance to ask all the questions about Poland you have always had.
Finally, you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour and tuck into all the Krakow food you’ve been making. As you’ll be eating with a Polish family, this will also be your chance to ask all those questions you have about Polish culture, and your hosts will be very happy to teach you all about their country. Eat, drink, and be merry – Krakow style!

Additional Information
The tour starts with an opportunity for you to shop for fresh produce at the lively market. Afterward, the guide will escort you to her/his private residence where you’ll transform into an efficient pierogi producer. Guided by your local host, you will acquire the art of preparing traditional Polish cuisine. In the process, you can practice your Polish language skills as you immerse yourself in the authentic environment of a Polish household and their mealtime rituals and discussions.
- How you will help the local community by joining this tour: - At the beginning of your tour, you will visit a local farmers’ market which is located off the beaten path, where you will have a chance to learn some Polish as you shop, which provides a great opportunity to interact with local vendors and respect their language and traditions. - Your tour also supports local vendors who wouldn’t have access to tourists without Krakow Urban Tours. - In addition, your tour promotes regional products

Awesome local experience - Perogie making with Anna was a wonderful experience... First shopping in the market place to purchase ingredients, then tram ride to Anna's apartment followed by hands on perogie making and then enjoying our meal together. We really enjoyed it and it was special because it was a small group... Just 5 of us

Pierogi making experience - Anna made our Pierogi making experience in Krakow one of the most memorable parts of our trip. She took us shopping for ingredients in the farmers market, helped us navigate the tram system and made sure we got back to our hotel safely.
What an amazing way to feel like a local instead of a tourist. Anna treated us like her favorite cousins from America.

Do it! - We had an excellent time with Magdalena as our guide and host! She was very personable, friendly, and skilled in her knowledge of the city, market, and, of course, pierogis! We enjoyed a fun trip to the market where we got to use to Polish while ordering our ingredients. Then, we enjoyed some delicious refreshments and appetizers before joining in on the pierogi making. Excellent food and company! Highly recommended!

Great Pierogi experience!! - Fabulous!!! It was the highlight of our trip to Poland. Amazing instructor (Magdalena) so fun and personal and great instruction. The pierogi were wonderful too!! Highly recommend

Unique Pierogi-Making Experience! - Recently, I was traveling around Poland with my mom and two aunts, and we were privileged to experience making pierogi with the lovely Dominika! Dominika is a gracious host, who took us around an incredible market for ingredients and local treats, and then invited us into her home to teach us how she learned to make pierogi from her mother. Dominika is very welcoming, full of conversation, and of course, a great teacher! The pierogi were delicious, so I think we did ok as pupils. :-) This was such a unique and personal experience, I highly recommend!

Pierogi Making class in Krakow - Learned to make pierogies with Dominika at her home. Fantastic experience shopping and cooking with her. She is warm, friendly and a great teacher. Experiencing in her home made it extra special.

Fun and Successful Pierogi Making - We had a wonderful experience meeting Dominika, shopping for ingredients in the Stary Kleparz market with her, and learning to make pierogis in her home. The hands on experience was fun and successful. We dined on traditional Polish appetizers before we cooked and had a delicious poppy seed dessert and fresh berries after eating our pierogis. I can't wait to try making the pierogis on my own. Dominika was a welcoming hostess and excellent teacher.

Great Pierogi cooking experience - Alicja was a wonderful host. She taught us how to purchase our items at the market which was quite entertaining. Great fun making the pierogis. We had wonderful cheese and bacon, our homemade pierogi followed by scrumptious dessert and fresh cherries. Only 6 in our group which made it very personal. Highly recommend.

Best Polish cooking experience with Alicja! - Excellent tour with the amazing Alicja! We first visited the Stary Kleparz market (oldest in Krakow) to pick out the items needed to make the pierogis, as well as some treats. Everything is so fresh! Then, on to her house to make the delicious meal from scratch! It is an experience not to missed! Thoroughly enjoyed it and Alicja was the best hostess!!

Best Eating Experience in Poland - We did a Tour of Poland and I must say one of the best experiences was Pierogi making with Kasia. It was very personable experience going to the local open market to buy the supplies and then make from scratch Pierogi in a home kitchen. We had so many laughs and were able to have good discussion about anything we desired. Awesome Experience.
