Highlights
  • Bamboo Train Battambang - Starting from the city center at 8:30 AM, we will head to Osrolao Village to experience the original bamboo train. If you choose to ride, we’ll spend about an hour here. You can enjoy the scenic views of rice fields, explore miniature old translations, and take a 20-minute walk around the village before returning on the bamboo train.
  • Kampong Pil Pagoda - Our next stop is a Muslim village where the Cham people feed fish in the Stueng Sangke river. We’ll learn about their history and origins. After visiting the Cham village, we’ll explore a Buddhist temple or pagoda to understand Khmer Buddhist traditions. We’ll also take photos from a suspension bridge and continue to a handicraft area where Khmer people create products by hand.
  • Rice Paper And Spring Roll Restaurant - We’ll visit villages to see the production of local items like sticky rice bamboo and fish paste at the market. Additionally, we’ll learn about the Khmer Rouge at the Well of Shadows (in Wat Samrong Knong), a monument honoring those who perished during the war. The final stop on the north side is to see rice papers, followed by a return to the city for lunch, or we can have lunch in the village if time permits.
  • Family Batcave Homestay - At noon, we’ll arrive at the homestay where you can leave your bags and freshen up before we head out to Phnom Sampov Mountain. Note that the stay here is for one night; an additional night at the homestay will incur extra costs.
  • Battambang Bat Caves - Phnom Sampov is best visited in the evening when the sunset offers a stunning view of the mountain and the surrounding landscape. As the sun sets, you can witness bats flying out from the secret bat cave, creating a mesmerizing scene. We’ll conclude the trip in the evening and return to the homestay.

A beautiful day around Battambang - We toured the attractions around Battambang with Mr Lychee on the advice of the homestay where we lived. He speaks good English and he gave us qq explanations that were supplemented by visits (paid).

Amazing Battambang cycling tour! - What an amazing day...! I’m not going to lie, I am not a great cyclist, and 45km was a bit intimidating - if you’re in that boat too then let me reassure you that Cambodia is really flat and the pace of the tour means that you will barely register that you have cycled that much! I really recommend the full day! Sambath met us at our hotel with the bikes, all good quality and with little pouches on the front to hold our phones, water and suncream. We also got helmets :) Sambath is a friendly and knowledgeable person, he took us around Battambang and answered our every question, though it felt more like friends chatting than a guided tour. It didn’t feel like a cringy tour, it was just the three of us so we were able to converse well and not be dominating when visiting locals. We got to taste local Cambodian snacks, and Sambath explained to us how they were made and the workers daily routine which was fascinating in the extreme. The bamboo train was very exciting but probably the most touristy part of the tour- not that it mattered when you were on the train and speeding away from everyone! Sambath, thank you so much for this perfect day. We hope more people join you on one of your adventures as it was the best way to experience Cambodia as locals see it- away from the tourist hot spots! Xx

Battambang chemin bicycle - Amazing experience!!! We first booked for half day tour, but because we were having so much fun and we were so interested that we did the entire day!! It is so interesting and enriching, we have learned a lot about the cultures, the villages, the food, the habits and the specialities of the local population. Sambath explained us a lot of stories and has brought us to super nice places! He really knows what he is talking about! His French is really good so if you want a French tour, do not hesitate! Otherwise of course his English is perfect. I truly recommend this tour, because it is not one of this agency tour where the guide only care about making money and are not interested by what they are doing. Sambath gives his heart to this, he is passionate and he truly cares about the people. Not only us but especially the local population, he really does that to help them as well. This is the best tour ever, we are tasting the rainbow!!!!

Amazing tour!!! - Had a great day with Sambath. I booked after receiving a recommendation from a friend and was very glad I did. Sambath is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares a lot about his guests. He taught us so much about the food, culture, and history. Definitely recommend. Can't go wrong with the half day or full day.
