- La Plantation - En route to the pepper farm, you’ll also see The Secret Lake (Brateak Krola Lake). This lake, originally an irrigation dam built during the Khmer Rouge regime, can be viewed from the terrace of a traditional stilted restaurant. It’s a serene spot perfect for relaxing and swimming.
- As you continue, you’ll notice Kampot’s expansive paddy fields. Rice farming is a major agricultural activity here, with many local farmers still using traditional methods. - Phnom Kampong Trach Cave - Travel through the countryside to Phnom Kampong Trach cave, located about 20 miles east of Kampot town. This site, discovered over 800 years ago, features pre-Angkorian ruins. The area includes a cave at the mountain’s base and several small wells used for worship by locals of Cambodian, Chinese, and Vietnamese descent.
- Kep Crab Market - One of the top destinations in southern Cambodia, the crab market offers a glimpse into the local fishing industry. Watch fishermen unload their catch, enjoy fresh seafood BBQ, and purchase seafood to be cooked on-site. Sample various local snacks and observe the daily life of the community. The market also boasts numerous seaside restaurants with ocean views.
- Kampot - After enjoying a meal at the crab market, continue to Kampot to explore its colorful colonial architecture. Stroll along the riverside to witness a beautiful sunset over Bokor Mountain, and watch fishermen’s boats heading out for their nightly catch.
