  • Angkor Wat - Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world, and the world’s most famous sunrise. It is an astonishingly large and ambitious complex symbolising the power and majesty of the ancient Angkor civilisation.

  • Banteay Kdei - Banteay Kdei is also known as ‘the citadel of monk’s cells’. It is partially overgrown with towering, sinous trees. The silk cotton tree roots weaving their way through the stones of the ruined walls is a famously beautiful sight.

  • Ta Prohm - Ta Prohm is a picturesque and attractive ruin partially retaken by jungle. It is also known as ‘the Tomb Raider temple’, made famous by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film.

  • Ta Keo - Ta Keo was never finished, and as such has a very different aspect to most of the Angkor temples. It’s square, layered-pyramid shape makes it one of the more dramatic sites on the tour and climbing the terraces affords some beautiful views over the jungle.

  • Angkor Thom - Angkor Thom was the latter capital of the Angkor Empire. The road takes us through the famous South Gate, lined with gods and demons locked in an eternal tug-of-war. The temple of Bayon at the centre of the site is lined with countless beatific carved faces, gazing eternally at the surrounding forest.

  • Phnom Bakheng - Phnom Bakheng is a hilltop temple built hundreds of years before Angkor Wat. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset in Cambodia, as it overlooks Angkor Wat itself.

Change sunset to sunrise.... - Amazing tour... Except I changed it to sunrise after experiencing the heat the first day in Cambodia. Still would definitely recommend anyone seeing the sunset after seeing the sunrise tho. Would recommend buying tickets ahead of time so you're not carrying around a paper badge. Our guide Vone was knowledgeable and knew all the right camera angles. Plus, he timed everything right so that our experience was pretty much a private tour of the complex. Brunch was meh.

amazing day - Amazing tour of Angkor Wat! Our guide, Narith, was great - very knowledgeable, friendly and a good laugh! He spoke great English, explained the history behind each temple and was happy to answer questions. The temples are stunning and the history behind them is interesting. We travelled by air conditioned bus (our driver, Chom, was great - he gave us a cold bottle of water after each temple).
