To explore the main attractions in the city in a truly local fashion, complete with the veneration of holy icons. First, we purchase a selection of Lotus flowers and bananas to offer to the statues. Following this, we gaze upon the highest branches to spot the large bats hanging from the vegetation. Next, we visit the museum that houses a collection of historical sculptures from across Cambodia. We then proceed to view the skeletal remains enshrined in glass of individuals who perished during the Khmer Rouge regime, taking the opportunity to read the accompanying explanatory posters. Subsequently, we take a trip to inspect the remnants of weaponry in a small verdant area, enhancing our understanding of the Cambodian Civil War. Continuing our journey, we delve into the process of silk production used for crafting garments, scarves, and various other items. En route back to the city, we pause to experience the sunset over an ancient reservoir before returning to our hotel.
