Highlights
  • Ege Ports - Meet your tour guide at Kusadasi port, holding a sign with your name. (Pick-up times vary depending on the cruise and will be provided upon confirmation.)
  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - Our first stop is the House of Virgin Mary, located in the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. According to the third Ecumenical Council in 431 AD, Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 AD and lived there until her death in 48 AD. After its discovery, the Archbishop of Izmir declared it a pilgrimage site in 1892. Pope Paul VI visited and prayed there on July 26, 1967.
  • Ancient City of Ephesus - A 10-minute drive from the House of Virgin Mary takes us to Ephesus, one of Turkey’s main highlights. Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, was a major port city and trade hub in ancient times. Walk along marble streets lined with historic public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus, built in the early 2nd century AD by Gaius Julius Aquila in memory of his father. The Temple of Hadrian and the Grand Theater, which could hold 24,000 spectators, are also notable sites.
  • Ephesus Terrace Houses - Visit the Terrace Houses (included only in Private and Terrace Houses Options), located on the slopes of Pion Mountain. These six residential units, built on three man-made terraces, were home to wealthy Ephesus citizens and feature elaborate wall frescoes and floor mosaics. Be prepared for many steps.
  • The Temple of Artemis - Our final stop is the Temple of Artemis, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, before heading back to Kusadasi.
  • Setur Kusadasi Marina Carsi - Return to Kusadasi along the shoreline, passing by Kusadasi Marina. Drop-off will be in the town center or port, marking the end of our services.

Best the very best thing was his knowledge of Ephesus and showing us even little things that we didn’t know.. it was amazing to see history unfold before our eyes.

Ephesus Shuttle tour: Ephesus, Terrace House, Artemis Temple - We had an amazing tour with Ephesus Shuttle and our tour guide Mr. Gurkan. They met us right outside of the port gates and we were quickly off to our tour. He explained so much about the history of the sites, you could tell he has such knowledge and passion for the history. We had a nice lunch stop and then back to the port. We had a nice big cool van for our family of 4. Will definitely use Ephesus Shuttle again next time we visit.

Fabulous one day adventure not to be missed. - Pinar was an excellent guide. She allowed us choices of what we had an interest in. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of each location and gave us an appropriate amount of time to explore on our own.

Wonderful experience - From the time we were picked up to the time we were dropped off, we were taken care of very well by our tour guide. Babur or Bob as he wanted to be called was very knowledgable of the history of the places we visited in Ephesus. He spoke good English and was very patient in explaining the history behind those places we visited.

Professional & friendly - We can't recommend this company/tour highly enough. Met directly outside cruise terminal. Comfortable mini bus. Very friendly and professional accredited English speaking guide, who has degrees in biblical history. Being a small group allows personalised interaction and tailored experience. We visited The House of Mary first before the large tour buses arrived, then went on to Ephesus where we were given detailed history and explanations. After that we went on to the giant single column ruin of The Temple of Artemis. We had some extra time and were offered the choice of a pottery demonstration or a leather workshop. There was no pressure or expectation to go to either, but we enjoyed the informative demonstration of the unique artisan pottery. We were accompanied the whole time and entrance fees were included.
