Impressed and thoughtful. - It's nice that there are such stations for animals and people, but do you really have to drive 3 or 6 hours across the country to get there?

Nice day trip! - Long day, but saw a lot of things. Some nice scenery at some points along the way. Saw 6 orangutans and a baby. Enjoyed the caves on the tour. Ipoh wasn’t really great to see. Could have skipped that. Overall good tour but is 12 + hours pending traffic.

Humans can be kind too! - Seeing the traumatized orangutans being well taken care of in their secure enclosed environment. They are free to roam and secure their own turf.

Sanctuary and spirituality, enjoyed immensely - What a fabulous place the sanctuary is. It was a day the traffic was bad but Rajan our driver and guide was very informative and we got to the jetty for the boat on time. Wonderful to meet the orangutans, with such sad tales some of them but also funny characters. The temple is astounding, so beautiful and the artwork amazing. Big thanks to Rajan and we enjoyed our day!

A worthwhile tour while in Malaysia - It was an early start to the day, a 3 hour car ride to the Bukit Merah Laketown resort. Our tour driver Aris was very helpful, polite, knowledgeable about the tour area, took our pictures and sent the pictures immediately on whatsapp, very respectful and even opened the car door for me every time, a very chivalrous man. We stopped once on the way for some snacks and restroom. Got to sleep during the car ride so the early start was not too bad. Had lunch at the Bukit Merah laketown resort while waiting for our boat. 15 mins boat ride to Orang Utan island where we got to see 6 Orang Utans on the day. After that headed to Perak Cave temple and the steep and narrow stairs to the top (~400-500 steps) almost left me breathless but my husband climbed the stairs effortlessly and encouraged me along the way. After that we stopped at Birch memorial clock tower, and walked through Ipoh heritage walk and concubine lane and bought some Ipoh white coffee, Teh tarik and candies to take back home for friends/families, and then we went to see the Ipoh railway station. Didn’t spend much time at the train station though as other than it being a nice building it was just a train station. The last stop was at the Kek Lok Tong cave temple. Another cave temple which was very beautiful and much cooler inside the cave. There is also a garden behind the cave which was very beautiful. After the tour it was time to head back to our hotel in KL, a journey which was only supposed to be 2.5 hours took us almost 5 hours because of the traffic so prepare yourself for some long journey incase of unexpected traffic. A long day but it was worth the visit. Higy recommend the tour when in Malaysia.

Very good tour and a very long day - The main reason for us to book the tour is to visit orangutang sanctuary. It did not disappoint. It is located on the shores of a small lake. We took the first boat there at 9:45. Be there 15-20 min in advance as there is only one boat shuttling between the shore and the sanctuary. If there is a big tourist group in front of you, you may be out of luck getting the seats at the last moment. One hour is enough in the sanctuary. We observed 6-8 apes, many small monkeys living in harmony with the giants, etc. The next stop is Perak Tong Cave temple – a Chinese temple built inside the large cave. It is active with many religious sculptures and spots for prayer. There is about 500 steps concrete stair going to the top of the hill where there are few traditional Chinese pavilions. They offer 360 view of the town below and the forestry hills surrounding the city of Ipoh. Visiting Ipoh includes walking a short narrow Concubine Lane Street. These days it is a typical endless row of small shops and eateries. There are few more spots in town. In my view it is nothing special. So, overall I liked the trip. The driver/guide was excellent. Please be aware that the sanctuary is 300km north of Kuala Lumpur. Be prepared for a very long day with the majority of time spent in the car. Typically it is 12 hours. If you are unlucky like us to encounter post holiday weekend traffic it is way longer.

Ipoh - A long way to go in a day. Pick up & comfort of vehicle good. Guide friendly& English a challenge but we understood each other. Needed longer on Island & a bit poor Disney land where boats are picked up. Chinese temple very good, don’t bother with railway station.

Worst excursion ever!! - I live in the US and the flight is over 22 hours to get to Malaysia. I thought this excursion would showcase a variety of sites in Malaysia for me and my daughter to see. The driver was nice, however, he kept asking us to go eat breakfast and we missed the 1st boat excursion. After the visit to Orang Utan, our driver took us back to the hotel. It's a 4 hour drive to get to Orang Utan. The excursion listed 7 places and the trip must consist of 4 people. That was falsely advertise. It was only my daughter and I. DO NOT go to this excursion. It's a scam. If all possible, REFUND ME please!!
