- Petronas Twin Towers - Standing at 451.9 meters, the iconic Petronas Twin Towers is a symbol of modern Malaysia. It is the centerpiece of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) development, which includes landmarks like the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, luxury hotels, a mosque, and the beautifully landscaped KLCC Park. Visitors can explore the Skybridge on the 41st floor and the viewing deck on the 86th floor.
- Menara Kuala Lumpur - Rising 421 meters atop Bukit Nanas and 94 meters above sea level, KL Tower is a notable feature of the city’s skyline. Its architecture showcases the country’s Islamic heritage, with Arabic scripts, Islamic tiles, classic floral and abstract motifs, and calming color schemes.
- National Monument - Built to honor those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom, especially during the fight against communism, the National Monument features one of the world’s largest free-standing bronze sculptures. Created in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who also designed the famous Iwo Jima Monument in Washington, D.C.
- Istana Negara - The Istana Negara, or National Palace, is the official residence of the King of Malaysia. Located on Jalan Duta, this grand building became the National Palace in November 2011, replacing the old palace on Jalan Istana. It boasts 22 domes, with the largest reaching up to 40 meters. - Malayan Railway Administration Building - Known as one of Malaysia’s most beautiful old buildings, the Railway Station and Administration Building is a stunning example of Moorish architecture.
- National Mosque (Masjid Negara) - Masjid Negara is one of the city’s most prominent landmarks, featuring a unique star-shaped dome and a 73-meter high minaret. Located near the KL Lake Gardens, visitors are advised to dress modestly, with women required to wear headscarves.
- Sultan Abdul Samad Building - Situated in front of Dataran Merdeka, the historic Sultan Abdul Samad Building houses the Supreme and High Courts. Its unique Moorish design and clock tower make it a popular photo spot for visitors.
- Merdeka Square - Located opposite the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and next to the Royal Selangor Club, Merdeka Square is where the Union Flag was lowered, and the Malayan Flag was raised for the first time at midnight on August 31, 1957. It has since been the site of the annual Merdeka Parade.
- The River of Life - The River of Life (ROL) is a seven-year initiative by the Malaysian government to transform the Klang River into a vibrant, livable waterfront with high economic value. Covering eight rivers over a total length of 110 km, the project is divided into three main components.
- Jamek Mosque - Officially known as Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque, it is one of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest mosques. Located at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak Rivers and accessible via Jalan Tun Perak, the mosque was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback and built in 1909. It served as the city’s main mosque and features Moorish architecture.
