Very special experience made better by Rajan - Amazing tour due to Rajan being a very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Raman pointed out and explained so much on the drive, then gave us lots of options to maximize our experience. A highlight was definitely feeding the friendly monkeys, which Rajan ensured we were safe, bought us food for the monkeys and even took lots of photos so we could enjoy the experience. The dinner was lovely in a local seafood restaurant overlooking the river, and the Fire Flies were very special (albeit on a short time to see them) to see after a quick river cruise. A huge thanks to Rajan who made sure we were informed, comfortable and happy the entire time. Highly recommend booking and requesting Rajan.

A great experience - We had a very short 2 day stop over in Kuala Lumpur on our way home from Japan and only arranged the one tour whilst we were here, and I am glad it was this one. Communication leading up to the day was excellent, and our guide, Rayhan Naidu, made the entire experience excellent. From the moment he picked us up he was friendly and informative. He took us to the mind blowing Baku caves, and to feed the troupes of monkeys around Kuala Selangor which was amazing. We had a great seafood meal (and I'm not a fan of seafood at all) and finished off with the firefly boat tour. I wasn't expecting much from the boat tour given the time of year, but it ended up being more then I expected. Overall, we were very happy with the tour and the service provided throughout.

A great half-day trip - We went to see the Firefly colony in Selangor with Aani Tour. The guide, Fauzi, was very polite and answered all the questions we had. We were a small group - just 4 people in total.
We got to see a Hindu temple, feed and interact with silver-tail monkeys at Koti Melawati and then had a nice dinner at seafood restaurant next to the boat pier.
The boat ride to see the fireflies is nice. The fireflies themselves are mostly hidden in the bushes along the shore, so don't expect something grand and majestic - but it's an interesting lights show.
For an additional RM 50 we upgraded our tour to see the Blue Tears plankton as well, fluorescent blue in the river.
All in all, it's a nice, calm trip. There aren't any huge highlights or crazy views, but the sum of it all was a very positive experience.

A wonderful day. - We spent 6 wonderful hours together with Rajan who was really super in giving us all the information during the journey
about Kuala Lumpur and the places we were visiting
The monkeys are really nice and friendly and the fireflies are fascinating at sunset. Thanks for everything.

Twinkling Fire Flies and Cute Monkeys - Our driver guide Rajan was excellent, informative and friendly, excellent vehicle, safe and comfortable.
Fair value for tour. Option to do eagle feeding out in the boat, 50RP, before the firefly trip, and blue plankton on the sand trip, after the fire flies, where the ocean meets the river, also 50RP. All 4 on our tour declined, I guess that you would have to wait if some went, if you choose the share option in the first place, but there is a restaurant where u can wait.
The boat is basic, one engine, fits about 30 people, so others join you for this part of the tour. I loved the fireflies and was very happy, but others in my group were disappointed, I guess it depends upon what u expect! I saw the odd one, then groups of five, then a few groups of about twenty or more, all flashing very bright. Great what a little bug can do!
Meal was fine, nothing to sing home about, but good and plenty.
Monkeys were georgous, seemed gentle and not scarey, but beware of feeding them if u dont want to be jumped on!

Slightly disappointing - The driver was very good - was essentially a private tour as only two of us - traffic was horrendous and heavy rain making journey very long
Temple was beautiful and as we were late saw a ceremony - still raining though / taking shoes off in pouring rain slightly precarious on marble floors 🤣
The firefly trip was slightly disappointing - very few fire flies but they were there - the boat trip to see the plankton was in my opinion bad - the idea of sone people thrashing the water with nets is environmentally not on - they are destroying the plankton and really this should be discouraged and as the weather had been bad they was very little to see -leave nature to its devices
The meal after was very good and very traditional
It was good to do the trip but was a long way and in hindsight would have done a different trip

Balancing Wonder with Responsibility - I wanted to share my recent experience from the firefly-watching trip my partner and I took to Kuala Selangor on May 1st, 2024.
Despite the stormy weather, we decided to embark on this adventure with high hopes. While the rain made the boat ride a bit challenging, we still managed to catch a glimpse of a few fireflies illuminating the mangroves.
However, one aspect of the trip left us feeling conflicted. At one point, our boat driver unexpectedly approached the mangrove and caught some fireflies using a net. As advocates for environmental preservation, this action saddened us, especially considering the declining population of fireflies in Malaysia due to habitat loss.
While we understood that the driver might have had good intentions, we couldn't help but feel disheartened by the disregard for the delicate ecosystem we had hoped to observe and appreciate. Furthermore, the decision not to release the fireflies back into their natural habitat only compounded our disappointment.
Despite this, the trip overall was an eye-opening experience, and it served as a reminder of the importance of responsible ecotourism practices.
I hope that by sharing this experience, we can all reflect on the impact of our actions on the environment and strive to make more responsible choices in the future.

Avoid - Overpriced anti climatic can't take pictures of fire flies or the blue tears dinner is awful Harry our driver was great but the whole trip was a waste of my last evening in KL better to have stayed in the city

Yes to the Fireflies, No to the tour - The fireflies were nice to see (not as specacular as in the pictures), the boat ride was fun. However, I had some issues:
1) Price: The value for money on this one was just not good for me (note: booking via tripadvisor one day in advance the tour was around 350MYR for me!). Taking a grab from KL there and back would have been cheaper in total. They ask for 50MYR for the tour on site.
2) Even though it was so expensive, the "blue tears" experience had to be purchased extra for 50MYR.
3) The food. You can book this tour without the food for quite some money less. I highly recommend to NOT book the food, it is very average and way to expensive for it (was over 100MYR for me!).
Also, our driver was also our guide, however there was not much information. He was very nice, but I would have liked a little more information about the river, the area and so on. For this price having a dedicated guide seems reasonable. All in all an average experience, I would book with another (cheaper) company.

Poor customer experience - Could not do the fireflies tour, multiple delays and it was late! There was no refund as well, overall poor experience. Very tough to get hold of tour operators, they never respond via the trip advisor app.
